  1. No teams named yet and we already know its not going to be good. Listen carefully can you hear that? It’s sound off 200k SC coaches crying into there Thursday night dinner..

    1. Chuck in Mccarthy for me, and that’s 4 fwds out. Soooooo lucky I have Menadue in mids, can dpp him to fwds. Feel so fortunate

  2. When you go from having all 30 players on your team playing to scrambling to avoid a donut in a fortnight…

  3. Adams, Weitering, R.Gray, Davis, Wells, Greene, Barlow…………like my season wasn’t already a complete write-off 😉

  4. I don’t like being a conspiracy theorist but Majak Daw is in?…. does this mean Goldstein could be a late out!! Talk about Land of the Giants if both play.
There’s always one round a year when Supercoaches are running for the lifeboats and looks like round 8 is the one this year.
At least I don’t have Barlow & Greene and pretty much everybody has Wells so it’s a case of …How’s your bench looking?!

    1. Shaggi Goldy will play this week.

My prediction is that Daw will be given a few games to try and find form then North can rest
      Goldy with confidence.

If there is a team Daw might be fire against or do alright against it has to be the Bombers.

  5. *flush* What’s that? Oh just my season going down the toilet.
No Barlow, Greene, Wells, Adams, Laird.

  6. Thanking lucky stars that I traded Barlow out a few weeks ago. Was crying while he knocked out 2 X 100’s over a couple weeks but scoring 50 odd last week and then getting dropped kind of makes up for it….
I don’t think I have ever used this many trades so early in a season. Been unavoidable this year.

  7. If you absolutely -life or death -had to bring in a rookie defender this week, who would it be? K. Brand is playing his second game this week (65 p 1st week). Thoughts?

    1. Whoever did thumbs down doesn’t help. If you saw the masses of $ I need to get out of the defense you would understand. It was a question, so if you dont like brand please offer a better suggestion.

            1. Yup i can go mills to petracca and upgrade weitering. Only problem is that the bulk of my cow $ will still be in def. Its been a problem for the last few weeks and is hindering my development in the mids/fwds. My def is nearly full prem. Also ranked in top 400

              4

              4
              1. Bec, there are no decent rookies in defence. Downgrade rookies on other lines and upgrade fattened ones in defence to premos.

                8

    2. I would probably go for Kaiden,
If you like risk then try
      Tucker
      Lee
      Otten.
But i think better to go mid rookies atm

      2

      1. Tucker showed some promise in preseason. If FURL is aiming at the future he should get games.

    1. Great question – leaning toward holding this week, might change my mind though!

I guess the question is do we want him in our final teams? I’m not sure on that question, at F6 maybe..

      What you thinking?

      1

    2. I have Barlow and Wells. Very unlikely both are top 6 come the end of the year so I’m moving Barlow on for Zorko.

      9

    3. Is he actually omitted, he was Freos BOG two weeks ago, and the week before that. I have a suspicion he’s out with an injury and Ross is just being his typical troll self and calling it an omission.

      0

      0
      1. Agree Uncle Drew – I have watched Fremantle the last 3 weeks, and can’t see how Barlow has been omitted after his last 3 weeks.

I’m holding for another week to see if he comes back next week.

    4. Trade – sick of all the BS drama every week. No more Dockers!
      Barlow to Dusty
      Mills to Keays
Leaves me with almost enough bank for a double upgrade next week, with Laird, Adams and Wells hopefully back as well

      3

      2
        1. That would be ideal, but then I have a bench that includes Laird, Adams, Davis, Wells, McCarthy and Barlow…..

  8. Can anybody tell me how long Courtney Dempsey will be out for?? Listed as a hamstring but don’t know how serious…

  9. Thumbs up- Out: M Barlow, C Mills, In: C Petracca, J Selwood.
Thumbs down- Out: C Mills, M Adams In: C Petracca, M Boyd
Comment- Out: C Mills, J Lyons, In: C Petracca, L Montagna

    13
    1. With Barlow out it leaves me with 4 forwards available Zorko, Hall, DeGoey and B Kennedy as Barlow, Lyons, McCarthy and Wells are out. I could swap Wells with Kerridge bringing J Smith on. Then trade Mills to Petracca and swap with Lyons bringing Hewettt on and use the money to upgrade M Adams in the backline to M Boyd. Also I could trade Barlow to Petracca and swap Wells with Kerrdige bringing Smith on and use the money to upgrade C Mills to J Selwood. Another option is sideways trading Barlow to Montagna swapping Wells with Kerridge bringing Smith on and trading Mills to Petracca. Which option would you recommend.
Thumbs up- Out: M Barlow, C Mills, In: C Petracca and J Selwood with J Smith in the field
Thumbs down- Out: M Barlow, C Mills, In: L Montagna, C Petracca with J Smith on the field.
Comment- Out: Mills, Adams, In: C Petracca and M Boyd, J Smith and G Hewett on the field

  10. Only 4 outs. With one return from suspension, one from injury and a couple of trades I’m 3 premos better than last week.

After being premos down for head to heads these last 3 weeks i hope to actually show what this team is capable of.

And Laird back next week. Fingers crossed.

      1. I agree! Good news for your team HH! As long as you aren’t playing the great “I’m Ron Burgundy” in the next few weeks I will have nothing but praise for your good self 🙂

  11. TU:
    – Mills & Barlow —> Mid Premo + D.Howard

    TD:
    – Mills & Adams —> Mid Premo + K.Brand

    Comment:
    – Back to drawing board

NB. Already have Petracca and the rookies at each end of the field are pretty scarce

  12. Hey guys thinking of doing this trade. Mills to Keays, and ben Kennedy to Dylan Shiel.

    Thumbs up do the trade

    Thumbs down don’t trade
Or comment if you can think of a better player at $537.000

    Cheers

    1. Id wait a week. My team is in a similar situation this week. I’d like to trade petracca in and bring a forward in but only have 490k. So double downgrading and waiting for a zorko/montagna type. Give Kennedy one more week

      0

  13. Wow! Survived the carnage with only Wells and Adams to cover. Rance back is a bonus. He owes me after I traded him in 3 weeks ago for an 89 and 2 donuts!

Mills to Petracca and McGovern to ZMerrett. Feeling good. 🙂

    2

    3
  14. Currently have 4 forwards- Zorko, Hall, DeGoey and B Kennedy as Wells, Lyons, Barlow and McCarthy all are unavailable.
Thumbs up- Out: M Barlow, C Mills, In: C Petracca and J Selwood. J Smith on the field and 7 premo mids.
Thumbs down- Out: C Mills, M Adams, In: C Petracca and M Boyd. J Smith and Hewett on the field.

  15. A little bit of promising news amongst all of this carnage – Rhys Mathieson named as an emergency for Bris!
Leppa’s favourite is getting close to senior selection

    6

  16. Why is everyone trading Barlow? He’s finally come good. Probably copped a knock last week, resulting in his low score. Rest him against the Hawks which is gonna be a loss anyways and have him & Pav fresh for the Tigers.

    11

  17. Full team but plenty of rooks on field,
Gray, Laird and Wells will all be welcomed back next week I hope!

  18. so trade out –
    T/U weitering
    T/D adams
and for who- i have shaw, bartel and laird in def. was thinking simpson or boyd but does anyone have think mcveigh for under 500k could be a good POD option?

    6

    1
    1. Definitely Weit, who will lose money as soon as he plays. Probably need to see some form from McVeigh first. Flip a coin between Boyd and Simpson. See who suits your bye structure best.

      1

      0
      1. I’m holding Weitering and am planning on riding out his price drop as I reckon he’s good enough to be one of my final upgrades.

        1. thanks guys, ideally i was gonna hold weltering as well as one of my final upgrade but i don’t wanna cop a donut so i guess i’ll flip the coin on boyd/simpson!

          0

          0
  19. Really wanted to solidify my Mid or Fwd line this week. But I know I need a defender. Mills and Adams to Petracca & Boyd leaving me about $220K for further upgrades. Hopefully next week will be Rookie & Montangna.

    3

    0
  20. Sooo I’m slightly better placed than most it seems (cross fingers, touch wood) with only 2 players not named.

In a position to do a double upgrade this week and looking for thoughts on best options please.

Mills to Pendles / Ward and (leaves full premo Mids, counting Libba there)

    Best options of the following:
T/U – Adams to any premo def (have Shaw and Simmo) – forgo Zorko
T/D – Kerridge to Zorko (means bench Wells and have to Play Menadue and Petracca)

Any thoughts appreciated!! I wasn’t planning on Kerridge out at this stage, but no way for Zorko in unless I bring him into mids instead of Ward / Pendles, which seems a waste … is it thus worthwhile trading a good rookie this early? Same applies to Adams in defence I guess …

I’m thinking Zorko is a bigger “must” than one of the defence premos at this stage (although that is my weakest line)

    Thanks in advance!

  21. Thumbs up- Trade M Adams for M Boyd
Thumbs down- Trade J Lyons for L Montagna
I am leaning towards the Boyd option as Lyons breakeven is below 30 and he still has money to make.

  22. I need help please!
Since I already had Petracca in my side (which helps, now that Wells is out). Who do I trade Mcarthy out for ? Is there a suitable cash generating downgrade ? What does everyone think of Dougal Howard ? He’s been named in the extended bench at Port. Thoughts much appreciated.

    1

    2
    1. Do you have a fwd/mid in your midfield?

I would sub them into the fwd line and trade in Keays or McPherson. You can re-establish the DPP link later on and they are better downgrade targets than any fwd option atm.

      2

      1. Rob – bloody brilliant! Thanks – I now don’t have to force myself in getting Howard in. Cheers mate!

  23. So lets just summarise the talent that won’t be taking the park this weekend:

Fyfe, Wells, Barlow, Greene, Laird, JPK, Houli, Cotchin, Rioli, Gray.

    Have I missed anyone?

  4. I know the poll earlier this week showed Heath Shaw as the best option to bring in for Grimes. But I still am leaning towards Adcock…whats peoples thoughts and reasoning on why Shaw is the better option?

and Grimes-> Shaw perhaps? not too sure. Comments would be great.

    – L.Tapscott
    – J.Darling
    – B.Matera

  9. Told you all that Pederson’s JS was pretty poor. North’s strength over most clubs is our group of talls (be it defenders, forwards or rucks) and Pederson is way down the pecking order at North in the talls.

  10. With LRT named, I think it’ll free up Grundy a touch more, and make him an attacking weapon.

    Grimes —–> Grundy
    Curnow —–> Boyd.

thumbs down – grimes –> shaw, stanley –> jacobs, then pray/ wait until tomorrow to see if libas playing? – (mundy in next week)

Grimes, Harris ———–> Gilbert and Jacobs

Was going to do the Harris trade regardless next week as to not have so many GC players on the pine in round 9

  13. Anyone remember this time of year 2009? Ryan O’Keefe hit 10 consecutive tons from round 7 to round 16, averaging a massive 134 in that time! He scored a 125 in Round 7 last week… Just sealed the deal on this week’s trades:
    Grimes > Shaw
    Curnow > O’Keefe

  19. Had enough of higgins and need some coin so thinking of downgrading him to smith and then playing tapscott in his place. With the 320k I will upgrade curnow to either watson or dal and then the following week Grimes to Enright.

Dont like downgrading a ‘premium’ but I get the feeling higgins will give us continuous grief all year.

    Good call?

  20. okay, iv done what everyone seems to be either suggesting or doing this week, im a sheep, i dont care.

    grimes to jacobs
    curnow to mundy

pretty happy with my structure. iv got all the premiums everyone seems to have a mix of.

swan, watson, mundy, goodes, higgins, pavlich, buddy, roo, godd, adco, deledio, gibbs, sandi, cox.

    NOW MY QUESTION

stevie j,, been last minute dropped a couple of times in the side. i have him also… and this week, he is brought back in at centre half forward in the teams for tomorrow night.

    BUT

he doesnt have a green bubble next to his name on the supercoach site…

    im scared.. thoughts?

  21. Going with a flexibility change this week.

Hoping Jacob’s job security holds up as I’ll go with him to replace Grimes to hopefully free up some DPP’s in my backline which.

Also looking to trade and an obvious one for me will be to move Curnow on for Deledio for the reasons stated above.

I have heaps of flexibility at the other end (and will have even more next week when Smith hopefully solidifies his position this weekend) but after that it’s all in preparation for post round 13 and the Swan trade! Saving my pennies for that one 🙂

  22. Morning all,

Need some advice for this weeks trading (if any). I have Grimes and Duigan on the pine. The only downgrade I see for Duigan is Jacobs. (I have Puopolo already). I only have $29k in the kitty.

I did however like the thought of bringing Jacobs into the mids to open up MPP. Swallow, Libba, Atley etc arent ready yet for milking though.

    Do I………
1.) Trade Duigan for Jacobs and upgrade Grimes to Shaw/Enright/Fisher this week and loose possible MPP with the mids (unless Hibberd gets a run soon of course)

2.) Dont trade this week and bring Jacobs into the mids for Swallow next week which opens up MPP and then trade up Grimes

    Thumbs up for option 1
    Thumbs down for option 2
    (or any other suggestions welcome)
thanks all and good luck this weekend.

  23. Dont trade duigan yet, let him play another game, his BE is around 40 odd so he should make a few extra $$ for you in his next game.

Also, Jacobs hasnt even played yet, wait to see how we goes.

Hibberd will get games but I think it will be on-off.
Hopefully he plays a blinder in the VFL this week and forces hirdy’s hand 🙂

Swallow still has some fattening to do aswell, he wont peak for a few weeks, there bye next week is a bitch but he’ll keep making money when they come back.

Is he in the 22 because of form (green tick) or is he filling in for someone injured (red tick)?

Just went in and was about 1mm off pressing the trade in button for Lewis Johnston instead of Alex Johnson.

    Minor catastrophe averted.

He’ll probably turn out to be a massive POD young gun and rip it up when he takes Alex Johnson’s spot next week.

  29. Gday Boys,

Got my team pretty close to where I need it to be, saving enough trades for the finals still.

Looking at one trade only this week, mainly for flexibility as a DPP Forward / Midfielder.
I have enough coin in my bank to grab whoever I like really.
Whats everyones thoughts on the following players to bring in…
Ryan O’Keefe (Sydney have a nice run in the next 4 – 5 Weeks)
Alan Didak (Quite cheap at the moment, no byes late in the year)
Jared Brennan (Go to player at the GCS)
Colin Sylvia (Inconsistency is my only worry)
    Nathan Fyfe (speaks for himself)
Not putting Chappy or Brent Harvey as options due to byes in the final 4 weeks.

  35. Finally did it
Grimes and curnow out for shaw and Priddis
Also saw on afl.com.au that clarko says rioli will now play forward because of his hammy – how much will this affect his scoring?
