Trade Or Hold R17 #1

Written by Schwarzwalder on July 9 2019

Wighty asked the question in the Polling Station on Monday and we’d like to get your thoughts on this as well………..

Obviously everything hinges on team selections on Thursday…….. but imagine for a moment that Max Gawn and Patrick Cripps were ruled out for Rd17.  Would you continue to hold or would it be time to trade with just seven weeks remaining?  Approach the following polls as if they’ve already been ruled out for the weekend………..

    1. If it’s 2-3 weeks I’m holding as I can cover him with Heeney. Any more and he’s gone.

      1. Thing is TrooRoo GWS have a history if misrepresenting player injury concerns.

Specifically remember J Kelly missing a substantial amount of time at the beginning of last year, even though it was framed up as a 2-3 week complaint. Later it was divulged that he carried his OP injury from that preseason or even earlier.

Do you believe that they’ll provide decent info?

        1. Well considering it’s been 24 hours since he’s had scans and still no word than I’d suggest they’d handle this similar to Williams injury. They are in a position where they must risk their best player if they want to make the top 4 and will bring him back after 2 IMO. Whitfield could’ve played but they expected a win and didn’t want to risk him. They will risk Kelly, especially if they lose to the pies.

          1. they won’t lose to the Pies 😉
If he’s not named this week, I’m trading him OUT. I’m fed up with GWS’ nonsense and what I save will make up for Hore’s paltry 3 last week and $50k loss in value!
Can’t be arsed spending every week worrying whether it’s a yay or nay. I’ve been doing that every week since Whitfield in Rd5 and I’m over it.

            Can you tell 😉

            1. Agree with AS’ sentiment, problem is I (and many others) only have 4 trades left.

Got Logue left at D6, plan is to cash in D. Clarke and then go Logue -> Whitfield. Contingent on Logue and Clarke to continuing to make cash and for Whitfield to fall sharply in price if I want to get him in with only 2 trades. If Logue and Clarke don’t make the cash needed, I’ll have to downgrade Bewley or Chol- leaving me with 1 trade, 0 if I have to off-load Kelly this week. Argh!

            2. all these “premos getting injuries” takes me back to the articles I wrote at the beginning on Total points V averages – will be interesting to dust them off and see who stacks up the best … I’ll work on that in time for the SC finals I think! Kelly certainly wont be there, with all of his problems at the start … and stupidly I think I recommended against him … but still took him myself!!

  1. Its hard to trade Kelly, Gawn, Cripps when only 2 trades left, when does supercoach 2020 open?

  2. Only got four trades left so I’m keeping Duursma as my D6 until closer to the finals. Other than that, team looks good. Don’t want to risk being without backup.
