I hear you Juddy, but my team is backing me into a corner with injuries and Subs this year and need to find something special…. my thinking is this: A quality player is a quality player, and we know how good O’Keefe is, and he had in interrupted preseason and a late start with some really bad scores eraly, my ‘expectation’ is barring injury he will just keep getting better. That combined with the fact Sidebum will likely be out of my price range, means i need to find someone special up Forward and there aren’t that many ‘good’ options. For now I’ll keep watching.

There is better running around than him at that price. Zaka, Stevie J, Clancy Pierce, Boomer. In the end it comes down to which one you think will improve from here on in. If you think it is going to be ROK then go for it but I prefer others.

Was at the Richmond v Sydney game on Saturday and was intrigued as to notice O’Keefe was put into defence as a loose man in the second half after being on 30 at half time, which was very conducive to SC scoring. Not confident that he’ll average over 100 from here on in though. Hasn’t looked as good as he has in previous seasons. I did get him 2 weeks ago, but if I didn’t have him I would go with a wait and see approach.

Not many premiums left in DEF. You’ll have to go outside the square a bit. Thompson (NM) is consistent enough, and could be a unique. Haven’t seen many teams with him. Avg. close to 100. Nice fixture too. Also has GWS last round (SC GF Round)

Here’s hoping he or other cheap Def/Mid DPP’s are on the bubble prior to the bye carnage! DPP status is great for young players profile i.e. Warrick Andreoli.

i think its to early to bring in stevie j, i had him at the start of the year when he was playing sh*t and traded him. he has only played well when gun midfielders are out, Rnd 6 – Selwood and Rnd7-Bartel, when they are all in i think he will go back to being a spud….. but its your choice.

Hi Supercoaches, can you give some good advise on the rucks for me? I have Sandi and Giles who are brilliant when Sandi plays. My ‘so-called’ back up is Redden and Big O – no coverage at all in reality and I am sure Sandi will have a spell sooner or later. I feel I need backup plan.
Option 1 – Hang tough and hope they will play.
Option 2 – Trade Redden/Big O for a cheapie like Longer or Cordy or Phillips or Jenkins. If you like this idea who do you recommend?
Option 3 – Trade Redden/Big O to a mid pricer (eg. Zac Smith) or a 2012 Gun (eg. Maric or Cox). But which one?
Option 4 – Trade in Roughy or Hale into the forward line then if I need coverage down the track I can trade Redden/Big O to a dirt cheap F/R for the DPP link.
This decision has a mammoth affect on my trades and cash for the year so a little help would be appreciated.

Same problem Jester – except I have Nic Nac & Giles, with Redden & the Big O on the bench. I’m thinking of doing your option 4, as I’ve had to wear 2 donuts the last couple of weeks with Nic Nac not playing. Only problem with this option is it costs 2 trades, rather than just the one in trading out Redden or Big O for a replacement who is actually playing & reliable. I’ll be interested to see what others think.

Jester, personally as both 211 and Giles are likely to play and score big until the byes i would leave it as they are & use trades elsewhere. Either could get injured, at that time or during bye get a DPP such as Roughie into the rucks & then in following weeks get another DPP in the forwards when they get back & switch Roughie. (I have had Hale from the start but Roughie will have a better season ave).
Don’t write off the chance of Big O or Redden getting games either, you would think at least one would get back in by the byes as ruck options are limited at Cats & Port.

Unfortunately, with that unfortunate score of 2 this week, Ellis (like Smedts before him) is probably going to have to stay on your bench for an extended period of time.
He’s only going to be worth about $235k after this week (not REALLY enough of an increase to justify trading out), and will need several weeks to get his price back up to an acceptable level.
That being said, an increase of $110k is nothing to sneeze at, and would probably be considered at the lower end of the recommended trade zone. So, if you can’t afford to hang onto him for another month or so, then by all means trade away.
As to who to trade for, no idea who you already have, so can’t comment, but there aren’t many downgrade options available (but plenty of upgrade bargains).
