      1. Maybe no upgrade this week is the alternative. A few good rookie options with danger within sight next week. Yoe and zerrit are on par for me as upgrades. Both luxuries i wont be persuing. Back six is stress free this year.. now for the forward headachs

      1. Lids has a BE of -26. If he can stay fit, a big if I know, he’s likely a top 6 FWD the way he’s playing.

        1

        10
    1. Mirra will not keep getting a game. Maybe survives this week due to Sicily suspension but don’t expect him to be there during the byes when you need him

  1. thoughts are appreciated coaches – please comment which option you think is best:

option 1 (if cole is named): garlett to guelfi and fritsch to mclean

option 2 (if cole is not named): cole to guelfi and fritsch/garlett to mclean

option 3 (if cole is not named): cole to zerret and fritsch/garlett to guelfi

option 4 (if cole not named): cole to simpson and fritsch/garlett to guelfi

i currently have 2 mid rookies on-field and 2 fwd rookies on field. want to get reduce number of fwd rookies on field.

    1. Guelfi has much better job security, and doesn’t rely on kicking goals to score either.

Higgins will be a gun though!

      23

      0
  2. Guelfi and Zerrett look to be making their way into the team. Unsure who is going to be moved aside for them. Garlett with 21 stops cash flow but Brayshaw hasn’t got too much going. Fritsch may of just had a break and could be in again but that leaves gowers.
Will depend on teams but I know who should be coming in

    3

    1. Think you can wait on Toby McLean as he has break even of 120 and 114 the following week if gets the break even score in round 6. In saying that the Bulldogs have a soft draw over the next three weeks.
Apart from Menegola, Heeney, Gray and Walters, I think Lambert and Mundy are worth consideration due to low ownership.

      2

      1
  3. TU: Naughton to mirra and brayshaw to Merrett
    TD: Garlett to Guelfi

Ideally i would hold Naughton and i know he still has a low breakeven and money to make, but once his 78 drops out of his price cycle next week he will probably not make too much more cash.

    1

    26
    1. Naughton is still good bench cover until he falls over. Will still make in excess of $70,000 if he can maintain 70 on a weekly basis before the byes?

Mirra’s job security may be ok whilst the Hawks cover the loss of Puopolo and Rioli for the next month, however, Burgoyne will be back this week and Sicily is out for a week so it will be hard to get a line through who will miss out of the defenders the following week.

      1

      0
      1. Hawks defenders were clearly out sized even though there was no pressure up field look at Brand coming in as soon as this week for the clear kick and hope VFL styles of Mirra. Burgoyne coming back this week too and they will have to give O’rourke a go at some stage too.

  4. Is it worth trading a non scoring player like fritsch to Guelfi or better off saving trades ?
    TD- trade him
    TD- hold your trades

    21

    9
    1. I reckon make as much money as you can while there are a lot of rookies to choose from, non-scoring players (excluding a loophole option) are wasting space at this stage

      3

      0
  5. I like the look of Guelfi and also Higgins (even though I feel his JS is questionable with the premiers). I plan to trade Guelfi for Garlett but undecided about Higgins. I have English (R/F) at F7, Cox (R/F) at F8 and Hayes (R/F) loophole at R3.

Up – Trade Higgins in for one of Hayes/Cox
Dn – Pass on Higgins and save the trade

    Comments are welcome

    19

    8
  6. WTF do I do with hibberd!!!

Decided to hold but not sure I can take any more of this

T/U – Trade to Simpson or Hurley
    T/D – Save trade

    39

    8
    1. Considering this myself, I think $50k for someone likely to average 25-30+ points per game worth it. How many trades do you have left?

      0

      0
  7. I wish I could trade Andrew McGrath. The way my team and cap space is currently and his price makes it very likely I’m stuck with him. Why can’t he return to the glory days of his round 1 score. Those were good days

    7

    2
  8. Bringing in one of Guelfi/Mirra

TU – for Barry (not playing) but only make $30-50k
TD – for Garlett and make $90-110k

    1

    25
    1. Fritsch has a BE of 3 and Garlett has a BE of 32

Trade out garlett for Guelfi this week and Fritsch for Sicily next week
      Pocket more cash

      15

      1
  9. My first trade will be Fritsch or Garlett (whichever of these two are not named. If both aren’t, it’ll be Garlett) out, and Guelfi in.

    Second trade:
    TU – Hibberd to Yeo
    TD – Fogarty to McLean

    8

    11
    1. Get Guelfi this week and Zerrett IFF you think he’ll be a Top8 MID from here on in. Not convinced on Higgins’ JS and Yeo will come down again soon. His 150pts drops out of his pricing-cycle this week and with a tough looking fixture over the next four/five weeks one bad score should see his price drop again. Two bad-uns and he’ll be cheaper than he is now. Reckon he’s currently overpriced for what you’re getting.

      2

      1
  10. With Mirra, Guelfi and Higgins on the bubble, is this the week for a double downgrade? I mainly care about leagues this year

    TU: Yes
    TU: No

    20

    3
    1. Im in for league win….i will be going guelfi and wait to see if zg langdon gets named both IMO have best job security. If not then mirra as cheap quick cash may get another game with sicily out

      1

      0
  11. Garlett to Guelfi
    O’meara to Higgins

Gives me 420k for upgrades next week

Although am tempted to go O’meara to Zerrett now instead

    7

    1
    1. Thinking something similar catta. I’m going garlett to guelfi and Kelly gws to Merritt. Then next week Bonner to cole and one of banfield barry or Holman to danger providing danger has bottomed out in price. No doubt the sc God’s will have a say in this and I’ll have to rethink this whole strategy.

      4

      0
  12. Absolutely spewing, am $1800 off Bonner to Yeo via Waterman to Guelfi.
Is it worth going Naughton to Mirra and Bonner to Yeo that way??

    11

    6
  13. This is my team
DEF: Laird, Simpson, Ryan, Bonner, Finlayson, Doedee (Murray, Naughton)
MID: Mitchell, Martin, Fyfe, Cripps, Coniglio, Whitfield, Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Coffield, Barry)
    RUC: Martin, Gawn (Olango)
FWD: Heeney, Walters, Petracca, Sicily, Fritsch, Garlett (Venables, Henry)

Thinking about doing Garlett – Guelfi and Bonner to Yeo
    T/U – Yes
    T/D – No
    Comment Any other advice

    17

    0
  14. T/U Bring in Merrett next week and crouch the week after
T/D double downgrade next week to prepare for Titch and Crouch both bottoming out

    3

    2
  15. Garlett to Guelfi locked in.

Dunno which is higher priority, need some help!

TU Hibberd to Yeo / Simpson / Hurley
TD Brayshaw to Zerrett (is Zerrett worth it?)

    11

    9
  16. Bit of a dilemma,
I am versing the last place in my league avg 1900 and im avg 2300 and all i care about is the Win.
    Would you
TU save the trades and assume youll take the win.
TD make trades as per normal

    (25 trades left)

    16

    17
  17. Tough call to make this week. Decided to fully focus on my cash leagues. Franklin and Silicy (muppet) already ruled out of the forward line – Fritsch a strong chance not to play. Looks like I am coping at least one donut

Trade 1 decided – easy swap

    L. Ryan > Guelfi

    Trade two:

TU- Hibbert > Yeo (50k in the bank)

TD- Hibbert > Mirra (use the extra funds to go to Danger in the next few weeks)

    6

    7
  18. This one is a little left field. I’m thinking about bringing in Deledio.
If he stays injury free he could be a top 6 Fwd, it’s a big risk but no risk no reward and he is only in 3% of teams. Could be a huge POD

    TU – Christensen to Lids

TD – To risky you have lost the plot

    4

    20
  19. Need to swap someone cheap in for Hibberd, to have enough cash to address my lack of class and forwards up front. Any ideas on a double trade?

    0

    1
    1. Current forwards are:

Buddy, Heeney, McLean, Garlett, Fritsch, Henry, Fogarty, Langdon.

      Thinking:
      Hibberd out –> Mirra in
      Fritsch out –> Gray in

Which leaves me with $65k left over if there’s something smarter to be doing. Forward line has screwed me this season, time to make some moves.

Have Naughton on bench in defence, so if Mirra is there just as a backup, that’s ok for now.

      6

      0
      1. Full team is currently:

D – Laird, Yeo, Hibberd, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray, (Naughton, Murphy)

M – Mitchell, Fyfe, Dusty, Oliver, Cogs, Cripps, T Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Brayshaw, Barry)

        R – Gawn, Martin (Lavender)

F – Heeney, McLean, Buddy, Garlett, Fritsch, Henry (Fogarty, Langdon)

        ~$75k cash in the bank.

        0

        0
        1. I’d get rid of Garlett before Fritsch, if either Langdon and/or Fritsch are named to play this week. If both play you can bench Buddy for this week and do Hibberd to Simpson too. Not ideal I know, but that’d be your backs sorted for a few weeks, so you can concentrate on FWD line from there. Hibberd has little/no chance of hitting his BE of 131, so should be moved on before he drops another $30k (assuming he hits his average).
Buddy can’t drop as he’s not playing, but is facing a 155 when he does return.
Not sure if that is any help at all. Good luck with it.

          1

          0
          1. Cool man. Well who would you swap out of the following to bring Gray in?

            Garlett, Fritsch, Henry, Fogarty, Langdon.

  20. As much as Sicily is getting suspended, us owners knew what we signed up for and are riding every bit of it. Riding the thrills of the big scores and the lows of the stomps and knees. This was part of the agreement when we bought him and by producing good scores he has rewarded us. Newsflash: If Sicily misses 4 games this year and averages the 104 he is on now and we assume the rookie replacements score 60 in his absence we get an average of 96 for a guy priced at 72. In the words of Jock Reynolds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0httuljZ7Xo

    1. Using the word ‘Jock Reynolds’ on this forum is the equivalent of swearing at the kids. Keep it clean please.

      1

      1
  21. Haven’t yet seen Guelfi play, yet everyone’s jumping on the bus. Would someone mind giving a brief synopsis on his role please? Thanks.

    1. Goes into football field. Chases ball around. Sometimes catches it. Then after all that effort he kicks it away and then starts chasing it again.

      7

      0
    2. I’d say his current role is on the wing (if such a thing exists anymore)

He just looks like a *player* – good disposal, cool head, does the 1%ers. He is exactly what the Dons need more of

      7

      0
    3. He’s mainly been playing wing and loose defender more than anything else.

Whether or not that’s just because the bombers have been so disinterested that is his only opportunity to get near the ball, or if that’s where they intend to play him. Is another question entirely.

They were a rabble on Anzac Day. Not that that excuses Floggard having a go at his team mates.

  22. Tough decision with first upgrade

    T/U Yeo
    T/D Hurley

Means I have to swing finlayson into mids and decide whether holman or finlayson m8…decisions decisions.

    11

    4
  23. This weeks a tough one.
Do we jump on zach merret at his rock bottom price or double downgrade and free up more cash for danger who is also close to bottoming out?
And with popular downgrades in guelfi/higgins if they get named this week its still hard to get a read of their JS due to the player management following the 4 day turnaround.

    4

    0
    1. I’m considering a double downgrade then double upgrade to Dusty/Danger.

Or I might go Double downgrade, Danger and downgrade, Dusty and downgrade.

      5

      0
  24. Is there any argument for keeping Hibberd? Hope he comes good for a 90 avg from now on and a decent D6/7? How wishful is that thinking?

TU – Very wishful, cut your losses now
TD – Its realistic, will eventually come good
    Comment – explain

    16

    2
  25. Hickey has punched out two mid 90’s scores and sits at $327k. How long is Longer out and can he honestly push Hickey out given the Saints remarkable turnaround these last few weeks.

With Jacobs and Goldstein sounding, is he a viable option?

    0

    6
    1. He hasn’t played against a decent ruckman yet. He did have a huge off-season and it was thought once he got his chance he’d be hard to shift. Well he has his chance now … but too risky for me. Gotta go premo I reckon.

      2

      0
  26. Do I
T/U – Bonner to Yeo via Naughton to Mirra
    OR
T/D – Double Downgrade and have $400k to use in the coming week/s

I already have Danger, but with Crouch and others also bottoming out, could upgrade to anyone.

    0

    7
      1. Thanks allsaints, don’t like sideways trades but they are stinking it up & rookies are doing well so can upgrade them later.
        More concerned about getting
        premos right.

        If not Shaw > Yeo

Thinking Buddy to Gray as worried about how long he’ll be out?

Or Second Trade Garlett to Higgins to free up cash for Danger fund?

        Forwards: Heeney, Buddy, Greene,
McLean, DSmith, Stephenson ( (Guelfi(went early on him), ZLangdon).

Mids: Titch, Martin, Fyfe, Macrae,Coniglio, TKelly, Holman,Banfield (Garlett, Brayshaw, Barry)

        0

        0
  27. And if getting rid of Hibberd:

TU – burn two trades (downgrade required) for a premium like Yeo/Hurley/Simpson
TD – just one trade to some value like Lloyd/LRyan/Seedsman

Already done two premium corrections in last few weeks (Billings-RGray and Goldy-Nic Nat) so would rather not burn more trades doing another.

    6

    1
  28. Vanables to Gelufi is done.

Holding Garlett for now don’t trust Higgins JS perhaps may get ZGL back in who i originally traded Venables to

    6

    0
  29. Dusty drops one 90 out this week and earns another.

He’s not quite at bottom price, but pretty close barring another shocker. Given he needs 138 versus the pies he’s a fair chance of going near his breakeven

I was gonna go a double downgrade, but I’m thinking instead going Dusty and Guelfi this week.

T/u Dusty and Guelfi for Fritsch and Waterman

T/d Higgins and Guelfi for Garlett and Fritsch/Waterman.

Comment: Zerrett and Guelfi, Zerrett is good for 115 from here on.

    6

    2
  30. Currently sitting 58th overall, 45k ITB

    Def:
Laird, Simpson, Savage, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray / Naughton, Coffield

    Mid:
Dusty, Titch, Fyfe, Coniglio, Cripps, Kelly, Holman, Banfield / Garlett, Crowden, Barry

    Ruk:
    Gawn, Nicnat / Olango

    Fwd:

Heeney, Gray, Mclean, Walters, Smith, Fisher / ZGL, Fritsch

Not sure what to do this week, not enough cash to upgrade.

Am thinking a double downgrade of Fritsch – > Guelfi – Garlett -> Higgins.

Leaves me with about 200k to go either next week or week after – Kelly -> Premo or Upgrade fisher in the forward line.

    7

    0
  31. Bonner and Brayshaw to Higgins and Guelfi? 300k to upgrade petracca to forward premo and Banfield to Danger next week?
    Yes or No

    9

    0
  32. Thinking about a double down this week and then 2 upgrades next week:

    This week: Hibberd>Mirra, + Venables >Guelfi (>$456k in kitty)
    Next week: JOM>Danger + TKelly>best value FWD/DEF premo

    Thoughts on this approach?

    TU: Solid strategy
    TD: Think again

    7

    1
  33. Went Garlett to guelfi for my first trade
I have now got 123.2k in the bank
For my second trade should I
T/U Trade Hibberd to Simpson and use 75k
    Or
T/D downgrade Naughton to Mirra to give me 274k next week.

    11

    6
  34. TU: Venables to Guelfi
TD: Bonner to Guelfi and through some dpp swing Murray to Yeo. I know Murray still has another 60-100k left in him but Yeo looks like a must have and I can get him now.

    3

    5
    1. Yeo will drop in price again I’m certain. Murray has plenty more cash generation in him. For more details, read the Fallen Premiums stream.

      1

      0
  35. Giving Garlett the boot. Thinking either Zac Langdon or Jack Higgins. Langdon seems to have better JS but Higgins has DP

    T/U Zac Langdon
    T/D Higgins

    5

    2
  36. What are people doing with petracca? I was hoping he’d take his game to the next level this year but so far looks like a 70-80 point player, which isn’t a disaster but there are better options around. My forward line is:

Heeney, McLean, Smith, Petracca, Billings & 3x Rooks

Hoping Billings starts getting more time in the mids seeing he can’t kick straight up forward lol Was thinking of flicking Petracca for Gray but will he get Jacobs TAG this weekend the form he’s in?

    0

    0
  37. 26 trades and $250k ITB
    Best option?
    TU: Bonner > Simpson/Yeo & Garlett > Guelfi
TD: Bonner > Mirra & Garlett > Gray
    Comment:
Get Oliver or Cripps in the MID via DPP

    Cheers

    0

    7
  38. Out: Armitage and Bonner
    In: Guelfi and Yeo
Means someone from fwd line will move to mid (likely Garlett and Holman will go onto the field).

    TU: go for it
    TD: try again

    2

    1
    1. Alternatively, I can get any mid under 626k (already have tictch, Martin, Fyfe, Cripps and cogs).

      TU: yeo
      TD: get a mid

      0

      0
  39. I am just wondering who it is better to trade this week –

    t/up Garlett
    t/dwn Fogarty

The $’s is not the issue but prospects of future games. I am leaning toward trading Fogarty due to my bye structure but if neither are getting games that becomes a mute point.

    6

    0
    1. I only say Garlett because you can use Flogarty as a loophole for the next couple of weeks to maximise onfield rookie value.

      1

      0
  40. Hibberd to Guelfi via Sicily DPP and Garlett to Mirra via Finlayson DPP leaving me with 24 trades (rip) and $526k for (hopefully) a double upgrade next week?

T/U – Sure, sounds like a half decent plan
    T/D – You’re a potato mate, think again

    1

    3
    1. Way overdue, but Zorko is gone, who is the better option to bring in (already have Titch, Fyfe, Duncan, Oliver)

      TU Coniglio
      TD Cripps

      Cheers.

      2

      5
  41. 26 trades left.
    Depending on selection of Fritsch.
T/U – OUT – Garlett and L. Murphy, IN – Higgins and Mirra
T/D – OUT – Garlett and L. Murphy, IN – Guelfi and Mirra.

To bring in Guelfi I would need to swing either Dahlhaus or McLean into the midfield for Holman or L. Fogarty which would probably lose me 20 points.

    0

    2
  42. Thinking a couple of corrective trades as Hibberd under performing & Franklin possibly out for a while..
    26 Trades remaining

TU: Hibberd> Simpson & Buddy> Gray (as have Greene out also)

TD: Save Trades (or just one)

Other possibilities & comments telly appreciated

    Team:
Laird, Shaw, Hibberd, Finlayson, Murray, Doedee (Naughton, Murphy)
Fyfe, Titch, Dusty, Coniglio, Macrae,Holman, TKelly, Banfield (Garlett, Brayshaw, Barry)
    Gawn, Nic Nat(Cameron)
Buddy, Greene, Heeney, DSmith,McLean, Stephenson ( ZLangdon, Guelfi)

    2

    1. Yea good trades just concerned this week with the Gray and Jacobs match up but should be right! Any thoughts on what I should do?

Option-1- Petracca and Garlett to ZGL and Guelfi (400k left)
Option-2- Garlett and Narrier (attempted loophole option in forward) to ZGL and get english from R3 to forward by getting Olango

      2

      0
  43. Coin toss:

    TU Heeney
    TD R.Gray

Comment: high risk of injury but could Lids be a keeper if his calf doesn’t blow out?

    5

    1
    1. I’m so tempted by Deledio but after having a look at his games per season trend I’m scared off.
Old guys and calf injuries…. if he has it sorted out he could end up being a top 8 forward. His long term average was in the nineties with only the one season over 100 before he started getting injured.
I was considering starting with him which would have been a win but think I’ve talked myself into playing it safe with Heeney replacing franklin.
Gray a good chance of the Jacobs tag this week but will probably still go up in price..

      1

  44. Hello SCT coaches,

My son is wanting to move Buddy on due to his heal issue, he’s got 29 trades left…so he can afford to IMO

    T/U …. Heeney
    T/D …. Robbie Gray

Not sure if Jacobs will tag Wines or Gray this week, so I’ve gone with Heeney tbh …. but the young fella has asked me to go to the SCT community for the answer

    Cheers Catta

  45. Currently rolling with 26 trades and dodged every injury/suspension bullet so far this season!

Team is looking good but will obviously ditch Garlett for Guelfi this week but thoughts on what else I should do?

T/U – Double down trade Fogarty for Langdon or maybe Naughton for Mirra ($230k-$300k in the bank).
T/D – Put the cash straight into turning Bonner into Yeo/Simpson

Alternatively I can sit and not use the extra trade but I’d be leaving Fogarty sitting on the pine whilst Langdon or Higgins make some nice cash

    0

    3
    1. I’m holding Naughton for a week or two more.
There are a couple of promising defenders in the works (Cole and Duman) for next week.

      2

      0
      1. Yeah I think at this stage I’m leaning towards the double down with Fogarty to Langdon. Gives me bench cover in every position apart from R3 (loophole) and as long as there is no major injury concerns I’m set for the bye rounds and can look to use the war chest on some upgrades after the bye rounds.

Been very lucky and haven’t had to use any trades on injuries/suspensions so the team is looking very healthy

        0

    2. I’d make it Simpson over Yeo-yo though. You’ll be buying BOTH extra points AND comparative value (pts/$).
Whilst Yeo might bounce more in price this week, he is more than likely going to come back to where he is now or further. If it’s just after his bye, then all the better. Naughton on the other hand is both safe and still has a little bit of fattening ($30k+), before being sent to the paddock for grazing.

Out of interest, do you have enough bank $$s and bench cover to do:
      Fogarty>Guelfi, and
      Bonner>Simpson
Garlett’s DPP and ability to hit 70 when he can be arsed might be more valuable in the short- to medium-term than keeping Flogarty.

Just my thoughts. Wish I had you first world problems 😉

      1. Unfortunately I fall short on the Fog – Guelfi, Bonner – Simpson move.

Going to leave Naughton for now. Still not sure on the other trade though.

Pro’s of the double down trade is cash generation to get in Simpson/Yeo/Gray in the coming weeks. It also gets rid of Fogarty who is sitting there doing nothing and gives me great bench cover that can last till the bye rounds.

Cons are obviously I delay getting in a premium player but I’ve got a pretty solid team at this point (averaging 2300~) and I’m just wondering if its worth delaying getting the premium to maximise some cash generation whilst my team is fit and firing and wont make any significant difference to the results this week (should win my league games comfortably)

  46. G’day SCT coaches,

Tossing up between Charlie Curnow, Taranto, Acres and Jamie Cripps (Wce). I will be getting any two of them. Please comment with what you guys think!

Personally, i think Taranto’s scoring will take a hit when Kelly, as well as Greene, return from injury, and at this stage I am leaning towards Acres and Curnow.

    T/U: Acres and Curnow

        1. do you think either/both Acres/Curnow will be top 6 FWDs from here to season’s end?!
If the answer is Yes and Yes, do it. If not, I wouldn’t.

  47. garlett> guelfi
    then i could go
goldy> grundy ($160k left) or brayshaw> yeo (via finlayson, 57k left)
but probably more likely to do either

T/U brayshaw> cripps ($17k left) only kelly and holman rookies on field
T/D christensen > gray ($130k left approx) henry only rookie on field once greene returns

only thing about gray trade is that i feel christensen has more money to make and a higher ceiling, at an 80n average he isn’t doing too bad-I’m hesitant to trade him out……

    1. West coast have given a bit of a mixed response. Reports were that a number of their guns were going to miss but they’ve said there’s players who are carrying things or that are sore but thats nothing out of the ordinary and they’re all ready to go for the derby.

Read into that what you will

  49. Take Zerrett or Cripps this week, both have low be’s and I think are cheap

To take Zerrett I need to trade out Petracca and Garlett
To take Cripps I need to trade out Petracca and Bonner

    Which option?

    1. Bonner are great player in DEF to use to trade up to a premium as he levels out. Seems a potential waste of a trade to get rid of Petraca and Bonner for Cripps

  51. Just traded Ryan to guelfi

Thinking of swapping either hibberd or bonner to forward line using coffield and garlett, to bring in a forward to cover fritch if he doesent play. Means i bring murray onto the field in defence, and possibly play coffield if yeo is out but aw well

    TU) trade bonner
    TD) Trade Hibberd

  52. Garlett to Guelfi
    Naughton to Mirra

Yes I know Naughton still has a little room to grow – but gotta cash him in eventually and Mirra on a big bubble is too good to miss.

With $550K in the bank, going shopping next week.

Time for Danger & a fwd premo.

  53. Now that Naughton has scored so well tonight his score will count.

TU Hibberd to Dangerfield (1k ITB)
    TD hold Hibberd (215k ITB)

Goal will be to get Dangers next week if I hold Hibberd
