You do the math’s….

by Big Sexy on May 7, 2010

After spending more than a little bit of time looking at the Supercoach pricing vs Champion Data scores, I thought I would share a rough guide you can follow to figure out if your rookies will keep going up in value, or if a Star you have your eye on is about to dip in price or go up….. here is a ‘rough guide’ (the exact rules are unpublished and a lot more complicated):

Approx Score Average (Primarily on last 3 Rounds) Player Price
120  $600k
110  $550k
100  $500k
90  $450k
80  $400k
70  $350k
60  $300k
50  $250k

Essentially look at a players last 3 rounds, and if he’s averaging 100, then likely whatever his current price is heading towards 500k… the further away from 500k, the bigger the jumps.  If it’s a 200k rookie with a 100 average, then likely he will jump 40-50k if he maintains his average, if it’s a 470k player, then likely he will jump 4-5k…. and reverse if heading down.

If you have a rookie who has an average of 60 (as a lot of rookies do), then you know once they get close to 300k, they wont go up much more unless they start playing some higher scoring games.  So it may be a good time to cash them in for another rookie, free up some cash for a player upgrade.

What do you think Mr Analysis ‘kb’?  and you spanked me last weekend and knocked me off the top of the ladder after I dished up 2 doughnuts.

I’ve done some maths of my own, and it’s left me with a nasty taste in my mouth!

My team average is a dismal 2183.17, leaving me with a pair of losses in my work league! HOWEVER, if you add up my player’s average scores I come in at 2336.5!! What does Pythagoras have to say about THAT?!??

Spooner – my guess would be that you have traded players in who have been upgrades/improved? Also, changing your Captain’s will change your score…

A lot of the popular rookies from the start of the season seem to have peaked or are close to it at the moment – Silvagni, Trengove, Martin, Bastinac, etc. The problem is the lack of viable downgrade targets. Howlett and Fyfe have two solid games behind them so they are popular options this round. Cunnington comes with a good reputation but may need time, and Rohan and Webberley were named this week so all eyes on them, particularly the former. I think we all want solid evidence that the rookies we downgrade to are also going to earn us money before the end of the season, not just play a game here or there. Should be an interesting next few weeks.

I agree Mike, I might have to bring in Fyfe at 5pm today if Duncan doesn’t get a run off the extended bench… and definitely willl have my eye on Rohan after he has a couple under his belt..

I’d think Howlett will play a massive chunk of the season. There are big wraps on him.

Hmmm at this stage it might be too late to get podsy since I only got 13 trades left..
Should I go for howlett or fyfe? My midfield is quite a mess (shuey, moles emergency) as well as my forward line : (dangerfield, medhurst).
FYFE OR HOWLETT!?!

im going howlett, hes a bigger body playing mid and fyfe is young playing forward and his scores have been against rich and wc. reckon he will struggle against better sides

if anyone couldn’t have figured this out themselves at the start of the season i don’t know what is wrong with you….At the start of the year 1 point= approx $5,300, but for some reason even if a player averages exactly what they are worth they go down throughout the season, hence the season ratio of 1=$5000…..This competition is getting more pointless every year with all the information handed out….Everyone starts with nearly identical teams….super gay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
