Game Chat – GWS v Richmond

Written by Motts on July 24 2020

Where and when: Giants Stadium, Friday 24 July 2020 • 7:50 PM (AEST)

Last time they met (you might remember it):

Saturday September 28, 2019

Richmond 17.12 (114) def  GWS 3.7 (25) on the biggest stage in football.

What it means for The Tiges: Not as much as it does for GWS! Richmond is looking for their 4th on the trot to stay in the Top 4 and in touch with Brisbane and Port.

What it means for GWS: Self respect & satisfaction.

Mottsy Watch: GWS. Really looking forward to how they play their first match against the Tiges since the mauling they took in the 2019 GF. From a player perspective, in line with Gunboat’s Captaincy Post, I whacked the VC on Cogs. His prediction was 140. Mine is 170.

Mottsy’s Tip: GWS by 15 points.

  1. TU – take budaricks 59
    TD – play Aarts

    I’ve used my 2 trades.
Have petracca, butler, smith and Taylor to come. Worry I cop a donut if I take budaricks score if anyone pull out. Thoughts?

    1. I disagree with the polls on this one, I would go for Aarts.
Definitely a pertinent point you make about having cover for a late out.
Last week Aarts only scored 50 odd but kicked 1 goal 3 behinds I think.

So even if he has a few touches and manages a goal this week he will be close to Budarick, Maybe worst case he scores 40 and you are 20 points worse off.

Then consider the alternative that he kicks 2 goals or more and I reckon he scores more than Budarick easily.

Just my thoughts, could be completely wrong, go with your gut.

    1. Injured. They are hoping it is short term but this is Hill we are talking about

    1. No one because if you’re running with Stephen Hill and no back up you might as well delete your team.

  2. No Late Changes to either team.

Save to bring in Egg-Smith. If you have Hill then he is the trade out.

i think i would be upgrading hill , rather than sideways trading

      1. I think day is the other option his cheaper and his score last week doesn’t reflect how well he played huge upside in scoring potential

  3. Pickett. Why do you do this to me? 105 last week and now in the negatives with 8 minutes to go?

        1. Hi GD.
Somebody posted a bogus post in my name in Coaches Box.
“GWS : Lachie Whitfield late out. Injured during warmup. Replaced by Lachlan Ash”
What can we do about it?

I didnt know what you were talking about until I saw the bogus post.
Why would anyone do that? Bloody idiot. I hope nobody changed their team because of it.

    1. North were disgraceful last week and the Egg just ran around doing what he liked. Bit tougher tonight

            1. Kelly has a very high ceiling, we just haven’t seen enough of it this year, so that’s a welcome sign for his owners

  5. The key to owning Pickett is to bitch about his scoring, then he lifts.

Bitching rage ÷ loose ball gets = Pickett points

Simple formula, works every week hehe.

  6. What happened to sauce? He used to be a decent ruck at Adelaide.
    Confidence issues or just unfit?

    1. Simpson May spud up, he hardly touched the ball until the injuries last week gave him some ball time, I would take the 60
