Game Chat – GWS v Richmond

Written by Motts on August 13 2021

Where and when: The Docklands at 7:50pm (AEST)

Last time they met: Round 9, 2021: Richmond 13.9 (87) DEF GWS 12.11 (83) at the stadium Tigers supporters won’t come to.

Last five: GWS 2-3, Richmond 2-3

Match Preview: The match of the round. This is going to be a tooth and nail clash between two teams desperate to play finals footy. No Dusty. No Toby. So hard to tip. I’m going to go with Richmond – just think their systems are going to get them over the line by a smidgeon.

Mottsy Watch:

Himmelberg, Green, Taranto

Bolton, Grimes, Riewoldt

Mottsy’s Tip: Richmond by 5 (tipping record 41/59).

  1. LATE CHANGE – David Astbury OUT for the Tigers, replaced by Ryan Garthwaite.

    GWS sub: Jake Riccardi
    Richmond sub: Jake Aarts

  2. Evening all, good luck with your prelims and I hope you were able to dodge the carnage this weekend.

I have Kelly, Taranto, Whitfield, Haynes and Bolton in this, so you can see why my teams is so very bad this year.
Don’t even ask why? I have done that enough myself.

In 3 prelims but expect to bow out this week.

    Have a great weekend.

    1. Evening, CT.

Your 5 off to a hot start. Just Short here for me.

Huge finals implications in this game, have tipped GWS.

      1. Short is doing well for you.

I also went for GWS but 1-39 points. I have a poor record this year getting the margin right.
I have the VC on Kelly.

        1. Wow, VC on Kelly. Nice!

I would have named him in the captaincy article were it not for him returning from an injury – otherwise must win game, coming off a contract deal, Tigers leak large MID scores.

Injury doesn’t look to be an issue at all though, carving it up!

          Nice one, CT.

          1. 148 from Kelly is very nice.
Pleasant surprize my team did so well. At last GWS are firing if only Whitfield had did a tad better. Ha! Never satisfied.

All the best for your weekend.

  3. Taranto back to his forward pocket position this week but is slaying them anyway, couple of goals already
