Game Chat – Port Adelaide v West Coast

Written by Motts on June 27 2020

Where and when: Carrara, Saturday 27 June 2020 • 1:45 PM (AEST)

Last time they met:

Friday April 19, 2019

West Coast 8.5 (53) def by Port 13.17 (95) in Perth

What it means for The Eagles: The homesick Eagles have been a shadow of their former selves since the season restarted. Losses to both Queensland teams have left them outside the 8 and dying to play again in front of the West Coast faithful. A win against the ladder-leading Power would go a long way towards them regaining their confidence.

What it means for The Power: The opportunity to stay on the top of the ladder half a game in front of the Pies.

Mottsy Watch: Brought Rozee in for Dusty last week and captained him when Gawn didn’t play. Can’t tell you how happy I was with that decision after he scored 30. He’ll have Mottsy’s magnifying glass well and truly trained on him for the entire match.

Mottsy’s Tip: West Coast by 10. The light at the end of the tunnel will inspire them to a win.

  1. No late changes.

Happy 250th to Brad Ebert, and 200 games for Jack Darling and Lewis Jetta, who is the only player in history to kick 19 points before scoring his first goal

      1. Correct Bobo. I’ll say it again: the AFL website is absolute garbage this year.

        McGovern out, Schofield in.

  2. As long as we’re [Eagles] stuck up in Queensland, we’re gonna suck. Resigned myself to loss. Silver lining would be Brander popping off.

    1. I apologise GD, I gave you a TD as I thought that the confirmation that we would be heading home would give them a much needed boost and a win.
You were right though, and I should have used my head and not my heart and not clutch at straws.
      Port were too good.

      1. I stopped watching after HT. Just ridiculous. Hopefully we get back to Perth with a run of home games and go on a role.

  3. I am so thankful I traded out Houston as he is on 1 point from 2 disposals at qtr time. Also relieved that I didn’t bring in Howe for him, so dodged a nightmare there

      1. Went for a POD and grabbed Weller as I am expecting the Suns to keep up their form and back to back tonnes is promising. He is spending more time in the midfield as named on the wing. I am putting faith in him to keep it up as who knows what will happen in 2020

        1. He has been known to get tagging duties – well last year.
That might be why some SCTT coaches sacked him after r1.
