    1. Absolutely no corkie involved in that at all. He was on his own, not in a contest, he had taken 2 steps running and then reacted like the 3rd step was into a bear trap and collapsed straight away, no comment on it from commentators. A few minutes later he was jogging again but then went off.

Time to trade him out anyway with martin, yeo and Roberts to fit in down there

  20. Western Bulldogs: Luke Beveridge on Tom Liberatore and midfield mix.

“Libba’s good. He’ll train today and hopefully get through the session, so he should be available so we might be able to find some room for him,”

“Obviously everyone understands if Libba is available, he plays and he becomes that central figure in the contest and at the stoppage in a way.

“We’ll work around that and we’ll share the time through there. Again though, it’ll just be a bit of a different mix.”

  21. Western Bulldogs: Ryley Sanders – who was made the sub against the Saints – had “come under pressure” and that the 18-year-old was “learning all the time” about the club’s defensive structure.

“It’s more about what (the younger players) are doing when they’re not directly involved in the game, and he’s learning all the time about where to be, whether we’ve got the footy or the opposition has it,” Luke Beveridge said.

“It’s in that as to why he’s come off a couple of times and been subbed, and then found himself as the sub last week, so he gets it …

“You’ve got to strike a balance of forcing the opportunity of a young man like Ryley, who’s going to be critical for our club in the future, and making sure you fortify your opportunity to win every week.”

  22. Adelaide: Rory Laird

“I’d like to see Lairdy get back to that hunt. Maybe with some of these small changes we’ve taken that away from him. I think Rory will play quite a strong game this week. He’s keen to really hunt the footy”

    1. Howes ownership
      R1 – 79,052
      R2 – 102,733
      R3 – 106,472
      R4 – 98,072
      R5 – 70,459
      R6 – 55,081

Almost half who owned him traded him out in a time of defense rookie shortages. That’s an interesting strategy

      4

      3
    1. I don’t think you can run him on field as you’d be giving up too many points. For my team, I could swing Livingstone forward and bring Sweet in at R3. A month of solo rucking is probably $120k+ cash generation.

      1

      1. Depends a lot on structure. For anyone with Jackson at R2 and miscellaneous rookie at F6, I know I’d prefer a number 1 ruck at R2 to push that forward rookie to the bench

        1. That’s fair. And based on his score from this game, I might have been wrong about it actually being a drop in points!

  30. WDE: Harley Reid officially out of round 7.

“Harley has been fantastic for us over the first six weeks,” said General Manager Football Gavin Bell. “But we feel it is appropriate to manage him this week to give him the best chance to continue to be available and play at a high level for the remainder of 2024.”

    1. Hi Stonks,
I have had a very busy day. Apologies.

Jordan Sweet has a breakeven of -5 after one game. Of course, everything will be clearer after game 2.
He is forecast to go up $46k to $205,100 Rd 8 then another $32,500 to $237,600 Rd 9.

I will post a more concise price projection after this round.
      Cheers
      CT.

  34. Shouldn’t the “Latest Updates” for the current week be pinned to the top of the articles on the 1st page CT – so any rumors or updates (like D’Ambrosia being a possible OUT for Sundays game) are front & centre for easy access. I know its the one article I check frequently, especially since it needed to be moved from its original placement on the right side of the site.

    1. Absolutely right Lisa, I don’t know why this post was removed but it is back pinned to front page.
