Poll – Robbie Gray

Written by Thommo on June 4 2018

Slats has asked whether Robbie Gray ($523,900) will be a top 6 forward on the run home.

His break-even is a little high (151) and he’s returned to a true forward role but he is bye free.

So how about it coaches:

Will Robbie Gray be a Top 6 forward?

  1. All come down to that mid field time. Only one of Rocky and Robbie will get it, and the other is toast.

Worst Case they share on and off, then both are trouble.

        1. Fortune may well Favour the Bold and I wish you good luck. Good to see someone thinking outside of the square but I would rather save the trades. Conservative me.
          All the best PJ.

  3. Im my opinion if gray plays full time mid he is easily the number 1 fwd and a must have.
But if he plays more forward I still think he is one of the top 6.
Obviously mclean and heeney would be the clear 1 and 2 but the rest of the top forwards are as susceptible the odd stinker as gray is but gray (like buddy) has the potential to go huge to offset the poor scores.

    1. This – still a top 6-8 forward but scores will fluctuate if playing mostly forward.

Wait a week and grab next round if you like him IMO

  4. I’m probably leaning more towards Westhoff at the stage. Reasons being he has that handy DPP status, has a great ceiling and can go big. And as has been discussed, Robbie may be playing predominantly in the fwd line. When Westhoff goes low, he doesn’t go really low. Gray can be prone to have some scores in the 50 range, whereas the Hoff not so much. By no means penciled in and will continue to have a good look at Robbie, but that’s the way I’m leaning atm. It’s a tough decision and no clear cut answer.

      1. Cheers mate. Yeah it seems like u have to tread carefully through most of the fwd line. Heeney and McLean are the standouts for me (along with Darling, but still don’t trust him for some reason). Almost every other fwd I look at have concerns around injury worry, scoring consistency or the dickhead policy – yes I am referring to u Sicily! Not an easily line to select at the moment.

  5. Do not pick gray, so many other players are scoring 10-20 more than him consistanly, smith, lambert, caddy, menegola. power over rated IMO. steer clear

    1. Um we’re talkin Robbie Gray here, not Sam Gray right?

R.Gray’s avg is 25 ppg more than Smith & Lambert, 8 ppg more then Caddy and Menegola…
