SCTTL Round 6 Review

Written by JimmyDee on April 21 2024

The end of the silly byes season, new DDPs released and I’ve been released from two weeks in hospital to tag the SCTTL once again.
It’s all happening !!

Teams need to be set up for best 22 for the next five rounds. What is your strategy from here? Fill in the POLL below and let us know the story thus far.

Top five was a competitive affair this week. Two coaches shared the number one spot, Cham Tech by Wayne and Tech Difficulties by Lindsay. Both scored 1963 with Wayne’s PODs being Yeo and The Magician. This top score keeps the top spot for Wayne.  Lindsay’s being Nick Martin and hanging onto Harley Reid to achieve the same score.

Second was Waynes’s alter ego, Dawn, with Killer Bees whipping out 1958 with three very nice PODs in Butters, Yeo and Rowell. Third was Windardium Leviosa who’s score of 1955 jumped him into seventh overall. His POD was Sheezel but could have been better except for captaining Luke Ryan after the failure of The Man of Steele early.

Ol mate Alex and his Gumbies picked up Walsh a week early to profit nicely with 1944, again despite a failed Steele VC, but a slightly better C in Heeney. Last place in the top five this week goes to Thanx Gus Brayshaw by Barrie with 1943 who must have gambled hugely, (or Jordan Dawson is his son), to get that monster score and a nice Rowell inclusion.

To express the significance of the competition, ten teams scored between these top five scores and 1921. The difference between the top twenty teams is only a mere 262 points, and with best 22, this can be caught in a heartbeat (check fingers crossed)!!

  1. Did Cham Tech top score last week too? (Imaginary cartwheeling in progress)…..

…..and his idol (me) top scored in SCT this week too. (Another imaginary…… nah, better not, don’t want to put my back out….)

It must be the neighbourhood……. 🙂

  2. DAMN!!! Too many family / weekend commitments meant that I left the C on Rozee, rather than take Bont’s VC. Cost me 60 points, would have put me in 2nd place overall. Ah well, there’s always at least one cock-up in the season, hopefully that was the main one for me (haha).

Feels like the place for that classic Scooby-Doo quote:

” … and I would’ve gotten away with it, if it weren’t for you darned kids”
