Hey Nato, Fagan has shown with Wilmot and Ashcroft and players like Answerth before them that he’s not afraid to keep a kid playing if he likes their style. They need to be kamikaze at the ball, have the ability to magically get out of jam,and be good disposers of the pill(not always Ashcroft yet) who hold up team structures in their role. Robertson and Lohmann for example really struggle with these things on a consistent basis. Fletcher looks more like Wilmot and FWIW I think he’ll be hard to drop if he keeps doing the above-Fages loves him!

I’m a little concerned the same will happen to Fletcher as it did to Sharp. Don’t own him or look to, so it is no issues for me. Just some good thoughts for anyone that may intend to bring him in.

I’m not in a place where I’ll be owning Fletch either.
I feel that everything that Sharp does on field just looks immature- I don’t see that with Fletch. This is not a team that is rebuilding-it’s a mature team that has designs on a flag hence why the immaturity of the Sharps and Lohmanns isn’t acceptable on the regular. Again he seems to make mature decisions in play and is so kamikaze at the ball. I want him in this team, I think he really adds something.
Not sure there are many viable alternatives to Fletcher, are there? They are saying Binns of Carlton may debut, but only because of the Cottrell suspension. It’d be pretty risky bringing him in if he gets named I would have thought.
At least with Fletcher, his value should increase to around $190K after tmr night so at least he’ll be worth something should he get stranded on coaches benches.
Just my thoughts anyhow.
Any cash gen rookies seems to be incredibly dry. The price of Fletcher doesn’t help either. I’d almost go to a 102k player for max cash and make better use of the cash, then hoping I can cover scores by trades
Yea, it’s definitely a tough one. I guess it really depends on how many trades a person has left. Rookie cash gen will help with Luxury trades come finals, but only for those with at least 4 trades left at that point I would’ve though. So for coaches low on trades, yea it is probably best to go the $102K Rookie, if your team is complete or near on complete.
A team like Carlton or GWS is very close to being out of finals contention needing to win 6/9 to make finals will be hard for them to do. I would look to teams like these for new rookies for cg towards the end of the year as they see what they’ve got. Just my opinion- dont shoot me Blues fans!
A very frustrating thing seeing rookies debut in the last couple of the games of the season, when cash gen is useless and then almost rules them out for next season as a rookie.
