Boyd v Bartel

Written by Motts on June 24 2010

Both priced at $515,900. Both averaging about 110 a game. Both playing in the guts for Top 4 contenders. Which one would you take?

  1. Boyd for me for one simple reason. Doggies are going to be fighting out til the end for a top four, maybe top two spot and therefore won’t be able to play silly buggers with their line-ups like we saw from St Kilda and Geelong at differing times in the run home last year. Bomber Thompson will invariable rest a number of sore players all at once like last year (it worked for them obviously so why wouldn’t he repeat it). Hate to lose a star player through being rested in SC finals.

  2. I’ve got both. Had to choose Boyd as he was one of the first picked for me this year, last year and up to 3 years ago.

Bartel was brought in about 6 or 7 weeks ago and I’ve been extremely happy with his efforts, was very surprised when I saw him at the price he was.

  3. After much thought and advice seeking, weighing up of pros and cons and some crystal ball gazing i’ve decided i’m going to upgrade Trengove into Bartel tomorrow.

Thanks Trengove, you have served my team admirably.

  4. I have neither, but I would take Bartel b/c I think that he can go forward and kick 3 or 4 goals. That said, I really rate Boyd and wouldn’t be upset if I had to take him. He has really improved his game and is one of the doggies best players.
