2013 Byes

Motts Movers R5, 2012 – The Backs

by Motts on May 3, 2012

Premiums

Heath Scotland ($554,000, 102.8, 113) – Would have to get rested not to score 100+ against the Giants this Sunday. Even getting rested he might still score 100. Or deck someone. Allegedly.

Brett Deledio ($572,800, 116.8, 113) – Top averaging Defender overall. Hasn’t yet missed a ton.

Mid-Pricers

Paul Duffield ($461,800, 94.6, 66) – 116, 116, & 95 in his last 3 with Port and the Hats coming up.

Harry Taylor ($454,100, 96.8, 46) – Has only missed a 90+ score once this year and facing Melbourne and Adelaide in the next fortnight.

Greg Broughton ($473,800, 85.8, 94) – Should see plenty of the ball now that Fyfe has finally stayed down.

Dyson Heppell ($464,700, 96, 61) – No 2nd year blues for Hepp. In fact he’s starting to crank it up with tons in the last 2 weeks. And get this schedule for R6-R10: Brisbane, WC (home), Richmond, GWS, Melbourne.

Value Picks

Cameron Delaney ($113,200) – 79 in his only run this year.

Tomas Bugg ($298,200, 84.2, -5) – Best backline rookie of the year. Give him the award now.

Sam Shaw ($113,200) – 71 in his first outing.

Tempted to bring in Scotland for Ellis this week if he is named, last minute withdrawal?

Don’t think that the Blues will play games this week with their side. Why would they? They have been exceptionally open about the fact that they want to rest players this season and specifically this week. I would be confident that those named will play.

As an extension of that comment though, it will be interesting to see who they leave out. Sound like around four-to-five main guys will miss the cut. The question for me is whether it will be runners/key midfield guys or the quality bigs that they cannot afford to lose. While it looks like Judd is top of the ‘rest list’, I think that the brains trust at Carlton would be more worried about losing Jamison, Waite or Kreuzer than somebody like a Scotland or Simpson who, although good, are much more replaceable than the key position players down at Visy. Thoughts, Motts, other Blues fans?

I’ve heard Judd and Waite won’t play. I’d guess Scotland would join them.

If this list serves me correctly, they surely wouldn’t rest Simpson as he’s about to play his 150th consecutive match!

Mumford – Maric (With a mullet like that, his bound for greatness)
Shield/Magner – Pendlebury

reasons for this trade; i want pendlebury to stabilise my mids, mumford is to expensive to sit on the bench, Pendlebury is the cheapest i’ll get him and Maric has a quality Mullet (plus i thought he did alright against COX and Nicnat)

Thumbs up do it, Thumbs down maric won’t be a premium ruck come years end, i’ll regret not holding mummy.
