    1. Over the course of the season, I reckon it’s worth trading O’Meara to Merrett. Sitting nicely in the Top100…..best of luck!

    1. There’s a few headaches in Billings, Parker, Goldy & Walters.
Walters to Gray or McLean look to be the right move.
Not sure you need to rush with Danger just yet if he’s spending so much time up fwd. Reckon I’d give the rookies another week to ripen up and upgrade Billings or Parker in the meantime……..

Will move Mclean back to fwd line once i can upgrade Holman hopefully next week to a premo.

Struggling to generate cash, but team Value is 12.25mil.

Had Walters in the fwd line, and have traded to Mcrae this week and moved holman to the bench (Cant be trusted)

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    1. Need to start saving those trades, Harry.

I would probably look to get Heeney in the forward line and maybe Finalyson into backline

      4

      2
    2. If you go through with the Christensen trade then I’d hold off with trades for the next two weeks (at least)…….

    3. Even though you have been burning through the trades, you have a pretty solid team & a premium mid is the right trade target now.

Merrett does appears the logical trade in but another option to consider this week is Neale, especially with Walters being out for an extended time.

Due to limited bubble boys this week, maybe hold off on the 2nd trade. This will give you another opportunity to assess the multiple debutants from this week & enable you to either double down or go 1 up & 1 down & possibly grab yourself another premium mid next week.

  7. I’ve had to do too many corrective trades so early in the season, that I haven’t had time to cash out my cows, and I’m only left with 21 trades after this round, so this team is not looking so crash hot so far:

    DEF: R. Laird, K. Simpson, S. Savage, J. Sicily, T. Doedee, S. Murray (A. Naughton, E. Richards)

    MID: P. Dangerfield, N. Fyfe, T. Mitchell, P. Cripps, S. Coniglio, T. Kelly, J. Finlayson, B. Banfield (N. Holman, A. Brayshaw, D. Barry)

    RUCKS: M. Gawn, B. Grundy (T. Olango)

    FWD: D. Mundy, T. McLean, D. Smith, C. Curnow, J. Higgins, M. Guelfi (B. Fristch, L. Keeffe)

  8. Was fairly happy start of last round with my team after my trades, then players spudded up and changed around my plans

DEFS- Laird, Touhy, Sicily, Bonner, Doedee, Murray (Naughton, Murphy)

MIDS- Danger, Mitchell, Fyfe, Macrae, Coniglio, Parker, Kelly, Finlayson (Banfield, Brayshaw, Holman)

    RUCKS- Gawn, Nankervis (Olango)

FWDS- Heeney, Mclean, Mundy, Smith, Fritsch, Guelfi (Fogarty (ADEL), Langdon)

12k in the bank with 27 trades
My Alarming problems are Touhy, Bonner in defence
    Parker in Mids
and the non playing players in the FWD line

So what does everyone think of the trades
    Touhy and Bonner- OUT
    Duman and Cripps- IN

With my DPP’s I can get in any Premo MID, FWD or DEF for 620k

Let me know with a Thumbs UP or DOWN with what you think about my trades or comment what premo to get in

        1. In that case I’d probably hold this week, then look at a top premo upgrade and handy bubble downgrade (there could be a few to choose from) next week on Holman+Billings.

Been lucky to avoid major injuries although i started zerret and m crouch. going with mid price fwds has been ok. Byes non playing is 2/7/10/11. Plan is for Yeo/Hurley/Hurn down back with naughton first to go. Danger after r12 and hope he keeps averaging 110-120. Was going to swing nank to gawn r12 but not so sure now. Fwds..Heeney also after r12, Boak after r10 and tossing up Mundy/Gray. Cash in bank and well chosen (mostly !!) rookies should allow me to ahcieve goals….downgrades start next week. Reckon I’ll be coming home as hard as anyone if all goes well…which it wont !!

  16. Hi guys,

24 trades/$6100 in the kitty and ranked 4749 overall. Cash league only so playing the man not the ball and early wins important !! Team is

Laird, Savage, Doedee, Finlayson, Murray, Naughton (Mirra, Keeffe)
Titch, Dusty, Fyfe, Oliver, Cripps, Coniglio, Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Brayshaw, Barry)
    Gawn, Naitanui (Orlango)
R Gray, Heeney, Sicily, Smith, Deledio, Billings (Fritsch, Langdon)

Sicily at either end (when he plays) but normally forward due to higher performing rookie defenders.

Currently 3/1 in 4th playing 1st, he brought in Zerrett as M7 last week (yep I keep track of my upcoming opponents). Possibly Kennedy (Syd) in this week who usually starts slow (interrupted pre season this time) but always comes good !! Not sure how at this stage IF that was to happen

    2

    1. I would wait a week on JPK for reassurance. He should go up in price a little but assuming you will use banfield or someone similar to d/g then upgrade holman to do it. You will make more money from those two for now to have another look and be hopefully no worse off

24 trades left and $413k left in bank.
Currently ranked 5,355. I dont mind my overall team structure other than billings in fwd line but I keep stuffing up my rookie on field and captaincy picks.

Really want to get rid of billings but will persevere for now as need to deal with walters and keen to bring in another premo mid. Thinking my Options are:
    Holman/banfield and walters to
    Danger & deledio
    Crouch and gray
    Merret and gray
    Macrae and mundy

Or murray and walters to macrae and gray.

Any other suggestions for replacements for walters and midfield upgrades welcome.

MID: Danger, Fyfe, Dusty, Titch, Cripps, Kelly, Holman, Banfield (Brayshaw, Higgins, Barry)

Plans for this week is to offload Banfield and bring in Zerrett. Also planning on bringing in Duman, issue is not sure who to get rid of. I have 3 rookies in the back on the field so Duman or Naughton will have to be moved onto the field that is also a small concern.

For Bye rounds i was planning on bringing in Yeo or Simpson for the defence due to my lack of Round 12 players. Robbie Gray is looking like a good choice for the fwd line too.

  19. Not my best season, have had some poor luck with injuries/suspensions (started Crouch, Greene, Sicily and Josh Kelly, plus rookies in Ryan, Giles-Langdon and Murphy).

Hopefully I can launch from here though.

DEF: Laird, Savage, Doedee, Murray, Naughton, Richards (Duman, Murphy)
MID: Titch, Dusty, Macrae, Fyfe, Kelly, Cripps, Coniglio, Kelly (Finlayson, Holman, Barry)
    RUC: Grundy, Gawn (Olango)
FWD: Gray, McLean, Sicily, Smith, Curnow, Fritsch (Henry, Guelfi)

Got my eye on Crouch and Heeney over the next fortnight. $100k in the bank already, expecting Holman, Richards, Murray and Naughton likely to make way.

Hey guys, obviously got Greene and Walters now that i have to get rid of unfortunately, as i was hoping to downgrade some mid rookies in a couple weeks. Just any thoughts on the team in general (any plans i need for upgrade targets??) and for this week, thoughts on replacements for Greene and Walters?

    Thanks heaps

    1. Team looks strong. You’ve enough trades to move Walters on for any premo. Think I’d do that now and wait for news on Greene.

      1

  21. I’ve had 6 injury trades after this week and will have used 10 in total including 2 correctives after this round. Walters to Howe this week. I’m sitting 6,000th odd (was in the 3,000’s before a shocker this week)

Def: Laird, Hurley, Howe, Finlayson, Doedee, Murray (Richards, Murphy)

Mid: Fyfe, Titch, Dusty, Cogs, Cripps, Kelly, Holman, Higgins (Banfield, Brayshaw, Barry)

    Ruck: Gawn, Martin (Olango)

Forward: Heeney, McLean, Sicily, Smith, Billings, Guelfi (Fritsch, Spargo)

342k in the bank to turn Banfield or Holman into danger or Macrae next week. Then will look to downgrade the other so I can turn a defender into Yeo the week after. Buddy for another defender is also on the horizon by switching Sicily. Hope I get to full premo with all these injuries.

  22. DEF: Laird, Simpson, Doedee, Murray, Naughton, Mirra (Richards, Murphy)

MID: Danger, Fyfe, Dusty, Titch, Oliver, Zerrett, T. Kelly, Finlayson (Banfield, Holman, Barry)

    RUC: Gawn, Jacobs (Olango)

FWD: Heeney, McLean, Greene, Sicily, Billings, Fritsch (Henry, Guelfi)

23 trades left before any this week.
$28k remaining (spent my warchest trading Brayshaw to Oliver last week)
Rank is 24k, going for league wins.

Really want to start moving on some defensive rookies, but most have got plenty of cash to make yet. Jacobs and Billings are very disappointing, yet I think I’ll hold for now. Same goes for Greene, I think he’ll be a great POD come later in the year. Again, going for league wins only.

Next week will probably be Holman down to a bubble rookie, and possibly Richards up to a defensive premo.

Next week Naughton will be primed, swing Finlayson if you need to and get the best DEF or MID rookie on the bubble. That way you’ll be ready for another upgrade the following week.

    1. Team looks strong but you have way too much cash sitting idle.
Barry a better out than Holman right now though neither has optimised yet. Naughton will be overpriced next week.
Hurn offers almost as much value as Sicily if that tickles you? Didn’t think so.
I’d just go Barry to Macrae/Oliver this week, if only to get that cash working for you.

      1. Thanks allsaints.

I have the cash because I double downgraded Buddy to Higgins and Garlett to Guelfi last week.

I may just make the one upgrade this week.

I’m thinking a defender so I can open my M/D link.

I like Macrea and Oliver. Both have friendly Byes but they are both priced at their average so would rather try to find someone cheaper that I can see improving. I actually don’t mind Hurn.
Nice Bye. He does put up some stinkers but also has quite a high ceiling.

Barry to Hurn maybe a good option.

        Cheers.

Last week had the plan of trading Brayshaw-Yeo (via Finlayson dpp) but stupidly forgot to complete the trade before the GWS game which costed me a good 50 points for the round. Planning to not make the same mistake this week. But unsure whether to hold the cash for Danger but believe if i double downgrade next week I could even afford him in two weeks.

Walters has to go, Mundy likely replacement. Unsure whether to upgrade Holman to Merrett (is he top 10 mid) or swing him into backs (via Finlayson) for Sicily

    1. Give Holman a couple more weeks as his breakeven is only 33 and will still generate a bit of cash. Then look to pick up someone like Crouch who will be dirt cheap in 2 or so weeks with a BE of 182 this week.

      1. That’s a good point. I suppose I have been relatively conservative with my trades so wanting to up the ante.

Perhaps just the Walters trade this week. Opportunities for a double downgrade next week so I’m thinking go early on Murray or Holman.

    1. Looking good. You should probably focus on getting another forward premo before trading someone like Kelly to Danger and he is probably the best rookie to hold throughout the season or up until the byes. Will also score better than Guelfi or Fritsch and JS is not as much of an issue.

        1. Look to downgrade Henry and then upgrade Fritsch or Venables when they make enough cash. You could go an expensive premo like Gray or Mundy or maybe play it more conservative and go someone like Taranto or Acres.

I think that I’m not going to make any trades this week so my rookies can generate enough cash to make a double trade next week and downgrade a rookie and upgrade either F6 or Holman to a premium.

May have to trade Goldy or Petracca if they keep underperforming, but I’m pretty happy with all my other premos.

Seedsman and Taranto looking to be very good mid-price upgrades from Bonner and Bell earlier in the season though!

    Thoughts and improvements are appreciated.

    Overall Rank: 7,895

    Trade plans:
Defence: J Sicily will be moved to the backline eventually and hopefully S Murray and A Naughton will become E Yeo and one of M Hibberd/S Savage/etc. This will force Doedee to D7 and Finlayson to be moved into the midfield when Sicily is moved to the backline.

Midfield: Hopefully Holman will become Danger around the bye rounds and M8 will be Macrae/Zorko/etc.

Rucks: 2 plans when Lycett is traded which will depend on the rookies cash generating ability.
    1. Lycett to M Kreuzer/P Ryder when they bottom out
    2. Lycett to B Grundy

Fwds: With Sicily eventually moving back this leaves 2 remaining premium spots. R Gray and D Mundy are the prime candidates as well as a discounted L Franklin once he returns.

      1. Feel like I’ve missed the boat of that. Lost a hell of a lot of cash, just gotta rely on him going 130+ again to give back a little what he’s cost me. Going to leave him for now and offload once my regular upgrade trades are done.

Walters to Heeney, or Deledio for the extra upgrade $ for Danger/Titch. Zorko out possibly to Zerret in the offing since I don’t like the rookies on the bubble. Languishing outside the top 10,000 so any advice would be welcomed.

    1. Hi mate
Looks like a sound plan. An alternative might be swinging Finlayson to MID for now and getting Laird!? He is without doubt gonna be THE #1 DEF so you’re gonna need him sooner or later. BUT only if it leaves you enough to get Heeney or Gray. If not, then revert to Plan A. Think you may have missed the boat on Lids sadly. A little upside left for sure, but age and past injuries may come back to haunt you. You have to make the call on whether you want to. I did it with trepidation last week, but then again I love risk. So far so good but a long way to go.

      1. Thanks for the advice mate. Probably going to go with your advice and take Heeney rather than lids, god knows I need some reliability. My only issue with spending on Laird is wanting to upgrade Holman to Titch next week. That said he won’t skyrocket in price if I wait an extra week and Laird is definitely a better bet than Titch… Decisions…
        Thanks again

        1. Titch is averaging 9pts/wk more than Laird so I’d make him your priority. Both should drop a little over the next two weeks so as long as you can get yourself in position to move on both in the next couple of weeks you should be in gravy!
It’s not easy is it!??! Good luck!

First, I just want to say a HUGE THANKS to EVERYONE on the SCT site for all the info/help/advice in getting me to the dizziest of dizzy heights. Finished about 63,000th last year (but hadn’t discovered SCT!) … doh.

    TEAM: allsaints

    DEF: |Laird | Savage | Sicily | Finlayson | Doedee | Murray | (Naughton, Murphy)

    MID: | Fyfe | Martin | Mitchell | Macrae | Cripps | Coniglio | T Kelly | Holman | (Banfield, Brayshaw, Barry)

    RUC: | Gawn | Nankervis | (Olango)

    FWD: | McLean | Franklin | Westhoff | Deledio | Walters | Fritsch | (Guelfi, D Fogarty)

Obviously have a couple of issues, like last week, in Walters and Buddy (who I hear is already ruled OUT for this week). I don’t believe in hanging about, or having cash sitting idle, so am thinking …

    OUT: Walters, Franklin
IN: Mundy (may benefit from Sonny sadly) and Robinson (another risk like Deledio, but will rise like a phoenix in $$ terms over the next couple of weeks)
    – will leave me with only $2.7k in the bank!
This will allow me to loophole rookies again in FWD and DEF lines (which I like). I have been fairly aggressive like this all season long, but next week’s plan will be a single or double downgrade.
    i. either Holman, Brayshaw or Banfield depending on SC Rd7 performances for Spargo (gives DPP options with Fogarty to loophole MID/FWD lines), and
ii. if Naughton goes sub-70 he may well go as well (with his low ave. he is actually gonna be overpriced according to my ‘blessed number’ – don’t ask!)

Would appreciate all thoughts as ever. Cheers SCTers and good luck in Rd7.

      1. Considered boak? Aside from the bye seems pretty solid pick and great POD at 460k. Though if you’re wanting to bring in gray further down the line that presents potential problems

        1. Thanks Harry. No I hadn’t, because of the Westhoff, Gray thing.
Am thinking I should probably stick with the one trade this week, after getting a very one-sided response in that favour on TradeTalk.
Just don’t like having premo players sitting on the bench, which is essentially the same as $600k in the bank doing nothing, with no return date in sight for Buddy.
Thanks again. May consider Parfitt, if he comes good from soreness. But then his score seems to plummet when the trio are all playing and Gaz can’t be too far away now.
          Thanks again mate

        OUT: Franklin and Barry
        IN: Heeney and Spargo
Opens up so many more loophole options right now and trades over the next few critical weeks.
Might lose a couple of points this week, but should make them up with two ups and one downgrade over the next two weeks.

Dahlhaus only in the mids since last week to bring in Guelfi.

Look to hold Hibberd and Billings as i have stuck with them this long may as well ride it out.
Only trade I would think of for this week would be Barry or Holman out for Duman and swing Finlayson to the MIDs.
Next week double downgrade most likely to bring in 2 of Spargo, Mutch, Worpel.

Any advice would be great as I thought I had a solid side before the start of the year but the ranking shows different.

    1. Weird. Your side looks a lot stronger than position suggests.
It might be Billings Dahlhaus and Hibberd bringing you down.
I know it’s a hard decision having stuck so long but I’d be seriously tempted with your bank funds to upgrade Billings (a mid-pricer now) to a Gray or similar. You can double-down next week on Holman, Banfield or Barry for two good rookies and be ready to upgrade again with some elite MIDs bottoming out in a couple of weeks.
If Barry or Holman aren’t selected this week I’d ALSO be trading the non-player for what you’re thinking.
You’ll be looking great in a couple of weeks I reckon.
All that said, make sure you do what you want, it’s your team. If you’re not comfortable, don’t do it.
      Good luck.
