Not sure if this is new this year, think it is, if a player is selected in a team but scores a zero (e.g. does his hammy just after the bounce) you get the zero and you don’t get your emergency’s score
Pretty sure in previous years I’ve been saved by the emergency
Must remember not to select people who do their hammy

Pretty sure ARC if the player takes the field & gets injured….1st minute or 5th minute…..if he’s on 0, that’s your score for that player.

Correct – happened to JRoo in Rd2 2011.
Even if the sub does not take the field he will get a 0.

I thought so Deano,
I still remember making Jimmy Bartel ( c) around the middle of the season when he got bloody knocked out in the first few minutes …he only got 4 points, but wait double it 8. Great (c) choice that round….. NOT!!

Who of u has seen the tv series The Leauge? It’s about fantasy football in the us, if u are a die hard fantasy fan you will love it, and its funny as hell.
Brings me to my 2nd question, anyone doing the SupercoachGold draft or done it in the past? Me and my mates are going to give it a crack, I think its a great way to put research to good use and have a unique team all season.

It’s a pretty funny show. One Ep a guy had his missus tied-up, blind-folded and begging for sex. But he needed to make a trade by lockout so he pulls out his laptop as he’s stroking his wife’s leg and makes a trade while saying things like “oh yeah baby, I am going to ACCEPT you”, and “I’m hitting that little button and now I’m gonna spank you”..

Any inside word on the Roos’ intraclub?
I’ve heard Sam Gibson is impressing although after what Scotty did to Richo and Pederson early last year I will be cautious.

Can play. Going to be another one the Hawks will regret letting out of their grip. Kangas do have good young options in the midfield if their all fit though. Maybe good downgrade.

Whats everyones thoughts on Kieran Jack? A bit of a forgotten player, but i love him as a player and have a good feeling about him. At 438k i think he could be a better option than barlow but im not sure. Time will tell but i would love to hear someones view on Jack. Say if you had been to sydney training or something.
Thanks guys!

Jack let BigRuss down last year quite badly. Has potential but its a no for this year. Gary Rohan is about the only swan roughy BigRuss any interest in at the moment.

OK guys i have the spare change for either of these promising lads.
Kane Lucas. Carlton boy have $100 on him to win rising star. Personally i rate my chances highly.
OR
Gary Rohan. Has red hair and every team needs a Ranga. Been talked up quite a bit and there is just something about him that i like very much.
Please discuss.

Cam Hitchcock has been placed on the LTI meaning Port can now upgrade 2 rookies with Cassisi on the veteran list.
Good news for Pfeiffer and his owners.

Info on Port including Pfeiffer:
Darren Pfeiffer
“He’s played a bit with the midfield as well but he’s predominantly worked off a half back flank. He’s 24 with a strong body and mature outlook, and he knows where he wants to take his game.
He’s got sound skills, he can run well and he’ll be pushing hard to be upgraded onto the senior list, having had experience on two other AFL lists (Adelaide and Carlton). He’s settling in well at the club and is putting in the work to improve his game.”
Blee doesn’t look like he’ll get early games:
Nathan Blee
“Unfortunately he’s had an interrupted pre-season because of glandular fever. They’ve had to pull back his workload and gradually build his work load up. He’s close to returning to full training so I’m looking forward to seeing how he performs out on the track.
He’ll be pushing for that third tall defender spot later in the year. He’s slowly learning the way we play through all our meetings but not being out on the track makes it difficult for him to implement what he’s learned.”

A possible “league only” part strategy became apparent today, if one was to focus on a “league win only” team then to basically sacrifice one bye round for the benifit of the other two, it may be possible to achieve this by making your team partly from R12 bye players (Pies, Bombers, Freo, Cats, Melb, Syd) …..so basically you score poorly for one round….. but can in turn choose as many of these guys as you so wish…
Swan + Pendies + Shaw.
StevieJ + Joelwood + Bartel + T West/O stephenson.
Broughton, Duffield, PAV, Fyfe, 211, Barlow.
Bolton, ROK, Goodes.
(can’t think of a Demon or Bomber)
Obviously stick to G&R, hopefully get lucky (no LTI and find a few keepers) have a few ripe Giant’s to milk before R11 and after R13 Upgrades can be anyone…
Thoughts???

Thanks Motts. I have been thinking … upgrades will need careful consideration. Why? Come finals the good teams will need Swan, Pendles, Sandi, Fyfe, etc. The question is … when to bring these guys in? If all goes well I think rookies will be ready for upgrade just before the byes. If this is the case there are two choices:
1) Upgrade to only rd13-bye guns only. The team will need more that this come finals to win.
2) Delay upgrades until rd13 to get other guns. There is a risk of falling behind the leaders for a number of weeks.
If the byes were weeks 7, 8 and 9 upgrades would not matter but we do need to plan carefully.

Concur and I think I am looking at the same round after playing around some. Notwithstanding the ability to trade three in those weeks I would need about eight trades to make round 13 work so I’ll take the hit….With any luck it will be THE one loss…The Agenda this year is to save trades SAVE SAVE SAVE….Lost finals last year and previous by not being frugal enough. Hoping that the rookies are ripe for trade and a few of my “risks” pay off as well ie the Porpoise to not get injured till round 11, score hungies make me squiliions and offload him in week 11??????
Tell me I’m dreamin…..

Surely only a matter of time before big Dan archer gets a game! I reckon ferguson not to fare away either. Seb Ross played pretty well on Goddard. Daniel markworth saw a lot of the ball but I think he is still too small yet. Sippa has bulked up a bit. Winmar got concussed but he wil be ok. I love curren, he’s the number I wear on my footy jumper #43. I really hope he gets a game this yr.

This looks promising………….
The players were divided into two sides, with one featuring all of their star players, which looked as though it was close to the Tigers first-choice side.
That team included ex-Adelaide ruckman Ivan Maric as well as new recruits Steven Morris and Brandon Ellis.
Morris and Ellis both impressed in defence.
Smith said the pair were in contention for senior selection, possibly as early as the home-and-away season.
He said the addition of the new defenders should free up Deledio to spend more time in the midfield this year
