A bloke in another competition contacted me today asking for advice. “Mottsy”, he said. “I’ve got a ton of DPP’s so can cover every area on the ground except for Sandi and Jolly in the ruck. Should I just use my last 2 trades to upgrade to premiums to ensure I get the double chance in the Top 4 of my comp, or should I play it safe?”.
What would your advice be to him?

Play it safe… I’ve tanked a few games hoping to get by without trading on lean weeks. I have 4 left and the worst I’ll do is finishing 5th, which I feel is a fairly good outcome as you’ll guarantee yourself a spot in the semi’s by virtue of playing the 8th placed team.
Win the next one with your trades intact and you have a better chance of getting a higher placed side having an off week and hopefully you’ve done enough to have your best side playing on GF weekend!
Well that’s my plan and I’m sticking by it

The best team of the year doesnt always win finals b/c as we all know this sc game is all luck. So it doesnt matter if you finish in the top 4, you just have to be lucky in the last 4 rounds.

Geelong are going to rest players over the next 5 weeks or so, probably best to keep you’re trades to cover for this, unless you have good bench coverage.

I have 2 trades left. I have 2 options to upgrade of sit and wait for an injury
Mids – GAJ, Selwood, Judd, Gibbs, Boyd, Martin (Morabito, Gysberts)
Backs – Hodg, Godd, Carazz, Waters, Hunt, Maguire, Shepp (Nason & Roberton)
Rucks and Fwds are fine.
Do I trade out Martin for a rookie to sit on the bench bring Morabito onto the field and trade him out for Swan…?
Or do I upgrade one of my backs to someone that can score more consistant in finals? and hope Martin can hold is own instead of the point boost from Swan?
Maybe get in Lake or Harbrow?
Anybody got some info? I play my brother this week and want to touch him up lol
Thanks fellas

1) Its wrong to talk about touching up your brother.
2) Martin’s playing reasonably well while Nason, Sheppard and Roberton are not. I’d upgrade one of those 3 and hold onto 1 trade for the finals.

Clear deficiencies in D7, M6, R2 and F7. All of these need to be your emerg. With cash spare you might be able to get someone of note for Jaensch.

I like Henderson as D7 – the kid can play. Would prioritise the other areas first.

http://tooserious.net/?page=main&steam=ADE has his BE of 94. Close enough to that on Fan Footy, considering no one knows how they are actually calculated!
