Doedee is cooked they said. Well, in hindsight with Eagles missing their quality tall forwards was always going to score well as he racked up  22 disposals (11 kicks) at 86% DE across the backline to go with 5 marks (1 contested),  3 tackles, 3 1%ers and even snuck forward for a goal giving him 109 points.

Richards is relishing his new forward role and is slowly lowering his odds for the Rising Star after kicking another 3 goals to go with 13 disposals (8 kicks) and 5 tackles for 90 points.

Rice had a rather quite week with 9 disposals (7 kicks) at 5 1%ers but a DE of 56% DE combined with 2 clangers held him back to 40. This rice is just about fried and is every chance to drop in price this week.

Taylor had a pretty standard stat sheet as he’s been putting up over his first 3 weeks of football expect this week rather than his usual 9 1%ers he has averaged giving his score a healthy boost, he registered a grand total of 0 which held his score back to 36 points.

T.Murphy may as well had the day after just 7 disposals (1 kick), 1 mark and 1 tackle gave him 20 points for the afternoon.

Lynch has been in the system for several seasons now but finally got his chance at AFL level and looked level headed in his 4 quarter effort to finish on 63 points. He finished with 18 disposals (10 kicks) at 67% DE, 3 marks, 2 tackles and a goal assist. With the injuries at the dogs and the reshuffling of some players, he might well see the season out.

Petty (37) and Joyce (33) both made their debuts in the Melbourne vs St Kilda match but a pair of 30s is far what gets our motors going…

Cunico is done after his 35 points against the Bulldogs as he now stares down the barrel of a 120 BE. Just the 8 disposals (4 kicks) and 4 tackles in what would be his final game for many coaches.

Sier has been pushing senior selection for a while now and the injury to Treloar opened up a spot in the midfield for him. He had a successful debut and lead the team for inside 50 entries (6) from 19 disposals (19 kick) at 84% DE, 3 marks and 6 tackles for 83 points. Looks to be the type of player we wish was held off playing seniors until Rd1 the following year so they don’t ruin their starting price tag.

Trengrove, Melbourne’s ex co-captain made his debut for Port Adelaide playing a half back role as he helped himself to 21 disposals (13 kicks) at 81% DE, 8 marks and 4 tackles for 77 points. Pittard going down injured might help him stay in the team for a little while.

Narkle was picked up in 2016 draft and is already a cult hero of the club without playing a senior game due to his long lucious gold locks which are enough to make any girl jealous. Had a successful debut and had an equal team high 6 tackles to go with 2 goals from 14 disposals (9 kicks) and 4 marks for 71 points.

Ainsworth was facing being removed from the tables above but finally was rewarded with his first senior game since Rd8. He finished up with 12 disposals (7 kicks), 2 marks and 2 tackles for 45 points. On the bubble but unlikely to be in the team for the remainder of the season as he looks just a little raw still.

Dawson spent the game rotating through the midfield and collected 17 disposals (5 kicks) at 59% DE. His score was helped given that over half of his possessions were contested and he laid 3 tackles and kicked 1 goal. On the bubble and basement price, he is set to be a popular downgrade option this week.

Apeness enjoys his time as solo ruck and stood up with Sandilands late exclusion do to injury and helped himself to 26 hitouts, 13 disposals (4 kicks), 3 marks, 3 tackles, a team high 7 1%ers and a goal for 97 points. He’s now put up two premium forward scores in the last 2 weeks.. this is the type of stuff we want at the start of a season!

Higgins had 20 disposals (10 kicks) at 75% DE, 7 marks, 2 tackles and 2 goal assists for 109 points despite having 4 clangers. Not quite sure how he scored that much but such is life, owners will be pleased…

Ahern was omitted this week before being a late inclusion which was an awful surprise for the 5,000 coaches who were using him as a captains loophole. Those who could not do anything about it were given 80 points which is far better than those who possibly swapped it to Fyfe (43). He had a DE of 54% and registered 4 clangers but his score was lifted courtesy of a team high 14 contested possessions. 3 marks, 3 tackles and a goal will hopefully be enough to keep him in the side for those who will require forward cover with Heeney set to miss.

Guelfi could have had a decent score had he not kicked 3 behinds from 14 disposals (6 kicks) but a 57% DE didn’t help either just leaving him on 45 points. Looks set to drop in price this week but the BE but it will drop back down to 50s once this weeks score drops out (assuming he scores his average).

Giles-Langdon dished up his lowest score of the season despite having a couple of injury ruin games and dropped $11k from 31 points. With a BE of 78, his cash days are over.

Powell made his AFL debut against Collingwood but with 10 disposals at 60% DE and a goal for 39 points, he will be struggling to break into many SuperCoach sides.

Rose has played a handful of games for Sydney over the last 4 years and a 38 point first game in 2018 hasn’t helped his future selection chances. If he didn’t lay 6 tackles for the match his score would have been quite bleak (if it already wasn’t).

  1. Great write up Hutta! Good to see rookies are still coming. Who is the best downgrade target with strong js?

    Up – Dawson
Dn – Sier, Narkle or Lynch next week

  2. Great write-up Hutta.
With Heeney set to miss (and that being first-up Thursday) I will have to commit early to his replacement, so
    TU: Trengove
    TD: Ahern
Comment: maybe play them both and put Mundy on the bench!! He looks older every week and may struggle in the heat of Darwin!!

  3. @stkildafc- Josh Battle will be sidelined for two-three weeks with a fractured left eye socket.

Bad luck for those who were hoping he would be possible cover for Heeney.
