I just want to inform my fellow SCT-aholics that I was lucky enough to get along to the the Macca’s ‘Think you’re a good Sport’ program run during the week, and from a SC perspective, I can tell you that Buddy will definitely be out for a few weeks 3-minimum. He did come to the event, but could hardly walk. He had a massive limp walking around and a club condition of attending was that he could only stand for 10 mins at a time….. so spent most of his time sitting signing autographs. I’d be surprised if he’s back within 4 based on his limp and obvious pain when walking. If you’re thinking/hoping he’ll be back early – forget it!
On the Murph front, I know he’s been named but his injury was a little better hidden, and we spoke to him he said he needed to pass a fitness test, but I’d also suggest he may be a late withdrawal.
Lastly, Pendlebury was supposed to be the third player in attendance, but was unable to attend ‘due to injury’ so a little surprised he was named, as J Roo was a last minute substitute for Pendles.
Anyway, take from this what you like, but I can state for fact that Buddy is in trouble and have no idea what the Hawks were thinking playing him last week.
Here’s a couple of picks:

Thinking of going Buddy -> M. Johnson so then when Buddy gets back, Johnson can swap with smedts to go back, and smedts can turn into the buddy!
Btw I have 6 trades left with 2 positions in the backline to fill (with my team now i.e buddy is still in)
Good trade?

Great info BS. Cheers for up-date. As you say Hawks (and Buddy) need their head read risking him last week.

Yeah, when he came walking in 4 days after his match and could still hardly walk…. I figured everyone would like to know. I also have him, and was hoping it may have been a 1-2 weeker until I saw him.

Thx for the update. Still in shock they played him, honestly thought he’s be a late withdrawal last week. If anyone had any sense they would have at least rested him (was a perfect time for him to have a rest!). He didn’t even train until the Sat, I don’t care if they said he was 100% -because he obviously wasn’t.
So. Pissed. Off.

No -I had bigger problems in Beau Waters being out for about double what Buddy will be. 3 trades left, I’m holding onto him for finals. Have you checked the activity feed Jester in our SCTTL teams? Meh anyways I just said Good luck, then well done on a good win over “Jett’s stars” last weekend (my team).

“during the week”. Any chance of getting an exact day BS? In my experience if it was only 2 days after the injury he could POTENTIALLY recover in 3 weeks (i.e. maybe even only miss 2 matches at a real stretch), given the level of care he should receive. However if he is still struggling to walk as of yesterday, I have no idea how long this might take. Hopefully not a Zaha type timeframe… Thanks for the info tho, nice work!

Sorry BS, just noticed your above comment indicating “4 days” post match. Finger poised over the trade button now…

Thanks for the update BS, ahh dilemmas!
Was hoping to do Giles to Cox but wondering if -with limited trades- Buddy should be swapped now. Treloar only an average cover especially if scores like he did last week (36)
Might wait to see if Giles even makes the cut tonight, he is on the extended bench at the moment

There must be more to Buddy’s injury than the Hawks are telling us.
When he was subbed last week his hammy was not iced and after the siren he was walking the ground with no limp shaking hands with the other players. At no time during the game did he “feel” for the hammy or pull up short. There is no way any of this could/would have happened if he had sustained a grade 2/3 tear which is a diagnosis consistent with the info above and his published prognosis. Chief even said during the commentary after he was subbed that it was always the plan to only play him for two and a half quarters.
The obvious conclusion from this is that he somehow tore his hammy subsequent to the game and the Hawks are choosing not to disclose for some reason.

Defo something strange as he did look ok when coming off & after the game.

He didn’t look ok at all. Will he didn’t have a pronounced limp he was definitely restricted.

I was at the game & apparently he was subbed off due to a corked buttock. I’ve unfortunatley done a few hamstrings before & they tend to hurt very high up the leg & under the buttock, when they are minor or major hamstring injuries!
I thought personally he looked very proppy after the game, he was definatley uncomfortble as the race the Hawks left the ground was 10 metres away from where I was actually sitting & my eyes were solely on Buddy!

Help. I promised myself that I wouldn’t be trading this week.
Given the info above I have pulled the trigger (can always reverse trades)
TU – Trade out Bugg for M. Johnson + Trade out Buddy for Goodes
TD – you only have 2 trades left after this one. You need all 4 to go into the finals.
I am coming 1st in my five leagues with an overall ranking of 137. I will make the finals so I don’t need to trade but I really want to improve on the ranking.
Any thoughts? Also, I considered Harry Taylor instead of MJ. Any comments are welcome.
Cheers

Pull the trigger… Buddy may be out for as many as four, and Goodes is the kind of replacement you can believe in… Also, Bugg is out of the team this week, so the timing couldn’t be better

Is your name Hamish? Are you playing in my league? They have all been trying to get me to go for overall position so that I lose in the finals. I think I will stick with the trade though.

trades for me this week are:
Buddy – Goodes
James Mcdonald – Carrazzo
I now have a M/F and M/D link, however on the flip side I only have one trade remaining. I’m praying to the gods to be merciful!

Massive Question!!!!!
I’m in the top four in my leagues, I have $115,500 and only have one trade left and I have a ruck problem.
I have giles and Ryder, luckily Jarred redden is playing this week
Thumbs up: upgrade giles and wait for Ryder to return from injury
Thumbs down: trade Ryder and keep giles for the rest of the year

If you’ve only got one trade left then you should wait for as long as possible before making the trade. Remember, Ryder should be back for SC finals.
