Fantastic start by K Simpson and D Martin but a shame I didn’t follow my preseason advice regarding C Curnow (selected Sicily instead).

  2. Wow, big first day for more than 500 SCT group members, and worth waiting for. Congrats to those who gambled on Charles, March, Graham and Nank. I’d like to wish everyone the best of luck for a great season and hope the footy stays terrific.

As for me, 330 from 3, no surprises with Dusty and Crippa as most people on the site. Used Garlett on the field for my 3rd due to the massive number of rooks on extended benches – sort of satisfied until we get to see a bit of form.

  3. 373/3; 437 assuming I take Cripps’ VC score (which I probably will, but Mitchell does have a fantastic record against Collingwood).

    2

    1
    1. That should say 307, not 373. Those keys are nowhere near one another, so I don’t know what happened there.

      6

    2. Now 712/7 (842 once you count Cripps’ VC score).

A nice start to the year so far. Brandon Ellis is the only one who hasn’t fired.

    1. 2/140
Marchbank 105-Awesome start, only threw him in yesterday arvo.
Dow 35- Disappointing, probably should have stuck the E on him.

  4. Dusty and Cripps so happy. Need a replacement for Brodie though.

    TU – LDU
    TD – Rayner
    Comment – Stephenson/Fogarty/Clark

Already have Brayshaw/Kelly/Banfield/Holman/Barry as MID rooks.

    1. Both with decent JS. I think Cam will be forward most of the season. LDU named in the guts of it so potentially better SC ceiling.

  5. 5/723/Olango (Dustys VC Scone included)

Stoked with my scores so far. Merret will be joining my boys in a few weeks I think.

  6. 556/5 Sloane VC, onto Fyfe, hope that works out better than tonight.

Laird and Sloane added to last night scores – Doedee benched with no “E”

  7. 671 / 4 / Dusty

    Dusty, Cripps, Curnow, Laird.

    Cracking start!!!!!

Got Doedee and Garlett with the E on them but don’t think I’ll find worthwhile options to you use their score.

  8. 445/4/fyfe into titch
Cripps and laird had cracking starts to the season and Deodee was sitting pretty on the field. Smith was decent was quiet in the last but reached 90 which is good enough to get the ball rolling. Many more to come

I had Martin, Cripps, Nankervis, Graham and Caddy first night happy with all them.
I had Laird, Smith, Doedee and Hurley tonight!
Very happy with the start hoping for a big score rounds 1

    Can’t complain so far.
Dusty, Cripps and Laird smashed out some great scores, Smith did what he needed to do, luckily had Doedee on field and Nank looks like he is going to provide some good value.

Had Curnow in my pre-season team for a long time, but traded him out about a week ago for Smith. Thought he may still be another year away before really breaking out and went for the more experienced campaigner. Congrats to those who picked him.

Every gamble has paid off so far, good times.

  12. 648/5/ unused capt. either Titch or Kelly

Great output from Simmo, Laird, Dusty & Cripps all getting 130+

Devon Smith my low scorer with 92 but good score considering the weak fwd premo’s

  13. 784 / 7 / Mitchell

Martin, Cripps, Nankervis, Crouch, Laird, Doedee, Smith.

    2 / 2 in the tips.

Happy with the start so far. Plenty of games to go though! You know what they say about counting chickens before they hatch.

    1. 482/5 Thinking Fyfe for C at this stage or maybe Titch

      Marchbank, Dow, Laird, Crouch, Hurley

      Had Doedee on the bench…bugger

Happy with everyone bar Dow, first game though and at least he is playing.

  14. 587 from 5. Captain looks like Titch with, well, just him. Was going to VC him into Gawn, but English is starting and I am keeping him, so no loophole!

    Doedee

  15. 1343/12/Mitchell

Super happy Mitchell came through after Zorko decided to take today off when I made him VC.

Fyfe and Treloar disappointing but Martin, Billings and Sicily all performed strongly.

A little disappointed with Beams, Brayshaw, Fyfe and slightly Christensen, however not happy with how my ruck Ryder has got an injury and will spend some time out so I’m probably having to go into my trades early which is never good.

Other note though, I did the playon for the site and racked myself up $60 profit so can’t complain at that ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. 1443 / 12 / Dusty

The only things I can complain about so far are Lambert not showing up for the first quarter, and forgetting to put Holman on the field. Everything else has been brilliant…which probably means that tomorrow will be one epic clusterf**k!

Goodnight all, I’m off to sacrifice some chickens.

8 Positively certified guns to come so should still see a 2000+ score, but a lot of disappointments too.

    Zorko. Seriously, dude.

I didnโ€™t start off to well with Kreuzer and Zerrett and Fyfe but still look alright, hoping for 2200

  20. 1457 / 12 / Dusty

Last year I made a bold decision to never again have a Ross Lyon coached player in my SC team. Then Fyfe was priced too well to not have him. I buckled, I caved in. I put him in my team. Then Brayshaw and Banfield came along, looking the goods. I picked them. Both of them. I’ve ended up with three Freo mids. They’re my only sub standard scores. FURL.

    12

    1. I’m not worried about Fyfe. It’s just funny/ annoying that after taking my stance then backtracking on it that my only underperforming premium so far is from Freo and my only underperforming onfield rookies are from Freo. #sckarma

      1. Relax, imagine I have 7 Freo players and not stressed, I would if it continue until R5 or R6. R1 is always about blowing out cobwebs, remember Menadue?

  21. 1236, 11 played, Capt Titch

With Ryder, Brayshaw and Rayner on field. V happy with Billings and Holman on ground tho.

  22. 1585/16/Titch

Not quite what i hoped for but nailing the captain makes it acceptable. If i can make 2100 i’ll be reasonably happy.

Thought i had to be up at just before 3am tomorrow for the games, but just realized British summer time starts at 1am in the morning, the clocks go forward so i lose an hour!! Meh

Good start to the year so far but Sunday’s can be a cruel mistress.

Happy to have backed myself in on Bonner after some pre lockout jitters.

  24. Now at:
1596 from 14, including Titch as captain.

    Left to go:
    Finlayson
    Hibberd
    Kelly
    Coniglio
    Gawn
    McLean
    Fritch
    Heeney

Not planning any changes to the above

Weitering and Fyfe and Rocky a let Let down, and I have 7 freo players. I didnt watch the game but the teams stats didnt look as bad as players scores. Anyone watched the game has any take?

    0

    2
    1. Your score says it all mate. Would have advised against that many Freo players, byes for one, FURL for two and Freo for three.

      4

      1
    2. Fyfe was effectively tagged by Ebert (a light tag though compared to days of old), so I expect his impact will lift in future weeks.

Rocky was just one of many Port players rotating mid and forward, didnt get enough mid time to score like he used to. Otherwise after the first quarter (where Bonner got a huge amount of his points) Port were well on top and in control of the game which limited any freo players scoring well.

Mundy played midfield though which is good for coaches with him. Walters played midfield with a small amount of time forward. Banfield and Brayshaw started strongly and then couldn’t keep up with Port after quarter time. Taberner spent time pushing right up and even behind the ball and scored better than I expected.

  26. Sunday can be a cruel mistress, what do people consider to be a good score for round 1. I am already working out my corrective trades as I can already see I’ve made some major boo boos , was so close to selecting Bonner but lucky for us we get a 2 week insurance period (at the cost of trades).
    1280/13/ Titch vc into Keefe.

  27. Josh Kelly owners.
Anyone concerned with him being named at forward pocket and its affect on his SuperCoach scoring ability.

  28. 1644/14/D.Martin.

Looking in decent shape for the year. Would have been nice to have Holman on field, and will corrective trade Bell to Bonner (via Sicily).

So far my mid price gambles have paid off in graham, bonner, sicily. Heres hoping it continues that way for rest of season. Have holman and doedee’s scores stuck on bench as decides to go with murray, finlayson, banfield and brayshaw on field.

Ive got gawn, lycett, hibberd, finlayson, coniglio, mclean, heeney to come.

  30. 1552 / 13 / Mitchell

Flipped Holman on field for Banfield when hearing about the torrential conditions up in Queensland. The kid is a tackle machine.

My only quandary at the moment is that Oโ€™Connor has been withdrawn from the squad and there are very limited trade options available. May end up just carrying him into R2 and hope he gets another call up.

  31. 1500 from 19. To many rookies underperforming and one premo in the great dane scores and 34. But i do have gazza as my captian so lets see if he can do one better then mitchell thank god i had him. Also yeo and bont left

  32. Could somebody please tell me what Nat Fyfe and Brayshaw scored please long story no access to SC scores on my phone thanks

    1

    1. Nat fyfe scored 75 brawshaw 45 50 fyfe had a shocker. Thats why i didnt start with fyfe knew port would put work in him

  33. For those of you with Ryder – what’s your plan?
I didn’t catch the game, so I don’t know the extent of the injury, all I know is that it was his achilles. How long of a stint on the sidelines is he looking at?

Is it worth trading Olango up to English today as some sub-par cover if Ryder is only our for a few weeks?

    2

    1
    1. After Ryder went down. I picked up English at R3.

That also stopped me taking Dustys V/C score.

I went T.Mitch as Captain. It worked out alright.

      2

      0
  34. What round should be be picking up Zerrett for around $500k?
Assuming a post-concussion game of say 95 before a resumption of more typical Zerrett scoring.

    0

    2
    1. That won’t drop him to $500,000. That’s priced to average 91, and he’d have to move towards there a number of weeks in a row. If he scores 90 his next match and then back to normal, the drop will be trivial and not last.

      1

    1. With Adams out Naughton becomes even more critical to the dogs structure. Also takes a lot of intercept marks which SC loves. Finlayson named on the wing so could score well, but Naughton is the far safer option

      3

        1. I got burned by the doggies in general. Had Bont and he flopped. Couldn’t have predicted they would fall so badly.

  35. 1,619 / 16 / Dusty
Have J Kelly, Gawn, Buddy, Dalhaus – Fox – Fritsch to play, so hoping for between 2000 to 2100.

First mistake was picking shai bolton (20 points) in my fwd line. Thought he was going to have a more upgraded role this season, but will need to look at changing him. Is it too early to start a correctional trades thread???

  36. 1489/14/Mr 54.

    Now have:

Finlayson and Doedee Bench (87 and 86). Naughton and Murray on field (25 and 72)

Banfield Holman and Barry bench (51 96 44)
Brayshaw and Kelly on field (58 and TBA)

Garlett and Langdon (61 and 47) benched.
Fritsch and Waterman (TBA) ON field.

Chance of a breakeven on the rookies is small. Right rookies wrong on fields.

At least no need for corrective trades. Unless Zorko spuds it up again.

  37. 1989/ Buddy and Parker to come/ T Mitch ๐Ÿ™‚

Mixed bunch with Naughton , Rayner and Forgerty ( ADL).4 scores 80+ on bench.

    Nailed Kelly and Holman.

Hibberd and Fyfe only real underperforming premos.

A great weekend of footy so far.

6+ sausage rolls from Buddy and a ton from Parker tonight will seal the deal.

    Gaaaaaaawn!

    6

  38. 2158 / Heeney to come,
    Naughton only real fizzer,
Fyfe and Hibberd to get better I hope
POD’s that didn’t work Def T.Langdon Fwd Roughy , make a call on them next week.

  39. 2166 / Dusty

    Just got Heeney to come.

Case of what might’ve been. ALOT of wasted rookie points on the pine. I could’ve been 2347 with Heeney to come!!!

    Fielded Naughton, benched Doedee.
Fielded Brayshaw & Banfield, benched T Kelly and Holman
    Fielded Giles-Langdon, benched Garlett

Still, off to a strong start! Go Heeney, finish the round well for us will ya.

    1

  40. Looks like a high scoring season opener.

    2081 / Dustin

Heeney, Parker and Venables to come, hoping for around 2350.

    2

  41. 2513 – Dusty

Lucky week for me but guess Iโ€™ve fluked a few rookies too.

Could have been better with Mitchell as Captain and Finlayson on bench.

    8

    0
  42. 2,269 all done, Dusty as capt. Naughton, Brayshaw and Rayner on the field, Doedee, Holman and Garlett on the pine.

    3

    0
  43. 2305 with titch as captain. Only naughton on the field over finlayson (and in hindsight holman on field over brayshaw) would have improved my total with my players
