Probably one of the most asked questions on the site this year (just getting edged by “can you please rate my team?” and “when is the SC iPhone app coming out?”).
Both are potentially going to break out this year with more midfield time but only Martin is a M/F DPP. Rioli is a tackling machine but there’s a ? over his running action and its effects on his hammies.
Time to vote.

Toughest one so far. Martin in his third year, will be a superstar. Rioli, has certainly shown even more at this stage (he’s a bit older and has been more consistent), but will he ever be able to play as a Mid – will his dodgy hamstrings not go ping this year – is it even POSSIBLE to teach someone a “different way” to run and expect this will supersede 22 years of conditioning ? Hard to have both due to the Bye situation. Martin for me.

Martin. Only because he is DPP. PLenty of time to watch Squirrel and bring him in once big J Brown or the Propoise makes me squillions

i wouldn’t be going into round 1 with martin in my starting lineup, considering the tigers play 4 top teams in first 5rnds, at that price i can see martin’s price dropping, and i would be looking to trade up to him once the season starts.
and i’d also be leaning towards waiting on cyril as well… especially with the expected output from some of the young guns the hawks have managed to blood over the last couple of years…

Not really sure which of the kids is going to be taking points off Cyril. Pops, Smith, Savage, Shiels, Suckling etc. were fantastic last year and there should be natural progression but they aren’t going to be bringing Sizzle any further down in the pecking order.
If he is fit then he will get more responsible, not less, and with that his scores will keep growing IMO.

So do the people disliking that one think that if Rioli plays his average will drop?

What do we all think about Barlow this year? Back to a supercoach gun?? Well priced right now if he finds the 2010 form

He had a poor intra-club game. I was hopeful he’d be a cheap prem, but it looks at this stage that he’s just an expensive mid-pricer. Watch in the nab.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. I think the kid has class and will be a gun again. But thanks for your comment.

Just Martin – got enough risky FWDs with Brown and Porp

I have both in team. Both guns. Tigers supporter here. Take the point about our first four rounds and waiting on Martin given the quality attention he is likely to get however his versatility of forward/mid gives him extra scope for getting into games. Ill wait on Rioli but will keep Martin
