Jack Grimes From the Dees is an outstanding player who racks up a lot of possies and avg 96 ppg, I was looking at upgrading Badson to Grimes myself.

I say be patient. These are the trades you look back on and say oops. That is unless you have your heart set on someone, which it doesn’t look like or you have absolutely no bench coverage and will not accept a doughnut.

Does this mean that you have Hodge, Goddard & Malceski? They are the 3 defensive ‘must haves’ of this season?

I’m thinking Heath Shaw may have bottomed out enough for you to grab.

Or maybe get a cheapie who can cover for Bower ’till he is fit again. Or Grundy from Sydney if you don’t already have him.

Can anybody think of any decent (i.e NOT Relton Roberts) forward cheapies for under 104k?

I have spotted Danny Hughes from Melb who has played 1 game, but I can’t seem to spot anything else.
I am trying to facilitate a Pavlich trade. I am willing to part with Bob Murphy, Cyril Rioli & 54k.
This will hopefully be my last f/l trade.

If anybody can offer some help here I’d be grateful.

That could mean trading for Didak who has scored triple figures every week except for two weeks (77 & 54) and is averaging 98.57, so this might be the go.

The only other players in the range is JB who looks to be carrying something and Eddie Betts who I am not sure about. After the Rioli debacle, I need peace of mind.

Retzlaff was apparently part of the Fev deal. I wonder you bluebaggers think of him. MPP as well, although when I tried to move Grundy to the b/l on friday, I had no joy at all. 8)

He was taken in last year’s draft your probably thinking of someone else. As for your Reg situation do you have a DPP ( B/F) in your backline, that is the only way it can work.

No,Motts I haven’t considered Jordan Russel, would you class him as a premium? He was fantastic last night though. Yes, I already have Hodge, Goddard and Malceski. Interesting point Maverick, I do have Silvagni and Maguire on my bench but I really want another premium.

Off topic, but can’t wait for a new thread..

Looking at 2 options and really need advise on which one is more sound.

Using MPP.. Rohan for Hall.. move PAV for Midfield to Forwardline. Upgrade Bastinac for Hayes/Higgins/Stanton/Didak (Need help picking who aswell)

or

Hall -> PODS and pocket the cash for an Upgrade of Bastinac down the track as 337,100 doesn’t get me anyone decent.

Either option will force me to play one of Gumby, Fyfe or Hitcock on the ground.

Which would you do? Or would you hold on to Hall?

If you go option 2. use your 2nd trade on Hitchcock which gives you 337k + 150 which you might be able to use to get a prem midfielder. Barlow (whom you prob have), K.Cornes, Rischitelli, Boak, Brady, Jack or Higgins are all options that fit and are averaging around 100.
Move Pv (or Higgins) to f/l which means you have Gumby & Fyfe on bench. replace him in m/f with Bastinac upgrade (assuming Basti is on your bench now)

IMO Rohan will not get a regular game. Hall to Pods will likely end up a sideways trade. Upgrading Bastinec to Hayes will bring joy. Downgrade Bastinec and use cash to upgrade Hitchcock to Waite adds fwd depth and brings X-factor and DPP if u have Davis in the backs.
just my musings…

not a bad option pump.. will think about that.. if I go that way, I’ll have to overcome my demons of trading Waite out to get him back in..

Im another one with trade issues – needing to be rid of either Hall or Schonemakers.

Idea at this stage is to downgrade Bastinac to Cunningon giving me about 431k on a defender, or about 500k on a forward.

Ideas? Suggestions? Hate mail? Gloating?

I would go with the defender trade. Maybe,
T.Kennelly ($403,400)
C.Hooker ($364,200)
R.Hargrave ($366,900)
A.Mackie ($367,300)

ok, fair enough. You could play Fyfe this week and trade for a midfielder next week. If Basti has a good one, his value might increase enough for you to look at Dal, Penders (who I’m told, needs a b/e of 150 this week not to drop in value) Cross or Didak. Otherwise
My thinking is that you don’t want to be reliant on one of Fyfe/Gumby/Hitchcock long term in the F7 spot. Getting rid of Hitch allows you to stengthen that spot and have a pretty strong bench in an emergency.

So your saying Trade Hall for Pods.. play Fyfe? A choose whether to upgrade Hitcock or Bastinac?

Is is suicide to have one of Gumby,Fyfe or Hitcock as my a permenant 7th forward?

im thinking of doing a double trade in my defence to get it set for the year. I will be doing:
Alex Silvagni (Benched) OUT
Dylan Roberton IN (for 2nd bench player)

Beau Waters OUT
Greg Broughton IN

My defence would then read:
Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Shaw, Broughton, Gram, Gilbee and EMG: Maguire and Roberton.

What do you all think? Good move?

BTW I have 16 trades left so it will be 14 left after this trade.

Hall out for Rohan..

Upgrading Bastinac

Narrowed my choices to Higgins/Stanton/Hayes..

MPP question if Rohan is on the mid bench and is an Emergency can he fill in for a forwards aswell as midfielders?

Who would you choose from Hayes/Stanton/Higgins?

My trades would be…
Waters->Goddard [220k]
Martin->Swan. [250k]

However, Swan’s breakeven this week is 93 but Martin’s is 26, so i guess ill wait to round 9. For waters his breakeven is 104 while Goddard’s 132. Any ideas what i should do?

Armitage->Hayes
Hall->Roughead(or similar)

Yeh, same here, I’ve got 15 left. I liked your point on Bower today, that I might regret it later in the year. I’m 4-0 in all my leagues, just wanna finish top 4, so there is no real need to trade I guess, with Silvagni and Maguire filling in for him. I also want to get rid of Hall.

hey motts,
i’m thinking about upgrading ladson but not sure who to go for, has anyone got any advice on who i should get, the options i’m considering are:
>Shaw
>Grundy
>Gilbee
>Grimes
>Scotland
>Hurn

i have $228,000 in the bank which gives me $532,500 to trade in one of these guys, at the moment i’m thinking either Gilbee or Shaw but would love to hear any other opinions.

Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Waters, Hunt, already in the backline.

Just did a defender poll today mate so I’ll give the punters a break for a bit before hitting them with another one.

Personally, I’d be thinking Gilbee or Shaw as well. The advantage of Gilbee is of course that he’s a D/M DPP. I brought him in about 3 weeks ago and was very happy up until Friday night.

I traded him out of my DT this morning. Took the advice of the punter that wrote in the other day saying that trading early in the week in DT alleviated the desire to trade in SC.

Brought in Didak.

I’m in the Brennan boat as well… looking at either a straight trade or chopping Bastinac as he has peaked for a lowly mid (which are few and far between at present) and then hopefully giving me enough for Pav or another quality mid like a Swan or someone of that ilk… it would cost me 2 trades and leave me with 12 which is concerning.
Interested to read how well Boak was going so a straight trade might be on the cards.

I followed the same logic bringing in Sandi & Stanley for Hille & Warnock. I have followed this practice for a few weeks and have found it beneficial for my SC, although, I hit a snag last week when I couldn’t react to the Silvagni situation leaving me with a lovely doughnut.

Yes I’m biased as PA will say however do yourself a favour and have a good look at Hurny’s figures. Even when he only gets 15 possies he scores 91 – 105 and ave 97.5. Imagine what will score with 20+ touches.
Born for SC scoring system.

GAJ showed on the weekend why he is THE must-have player in this competition. Goodes is going to lose more money this weekend and you’re reasonably strong up front so I’d say that’s a goer, Dazz. Just make sure Fyfe gets named before you go pulling any triggers. Given his output though you’d have to be confident.
