Current Brownlow Markets 2019

Written by Schwarzwalder on August 29 2019

Marcus Bontempelli has been backed right in for the Brownlow after running away with the AFLCA Champion Player Of The Year Award for 2019 ahead of Dangerfield and Fyfe.  Up until a few weeks ago, Tim Kelly was still favorite but has drifted right out to $21.  Dangerfield is into favoritism following a strong run home that should add to his solid first half of the season.  Latest markets for the 2019 Brownlow are as follows………

My tips?  I have some nice multis in play with Dangerfield, Fyfe and Adam Treloar & I’m still fairly confident that one of those will get up.  Having watched the Tigers games all year, I’m expecting Houli to poll the most votes (Dusty suspended against the Giants).  Even though he missed a few games early, Houli has been one of our best players over the last half of the season.

Who do you see taking out Charlie this year?

  1. You are deadset right about Houli Schwarz and represents good value for most votes W/O Martin paying $3.50 @Sportsbet and O’Meara is another one I like snapping up $5 @Sportsbet now into $4.00 there, and is only $2.75 @ Ladbrokes, $3.00 at the TAB after opening up $4.50.

      1. Schwarzy and the site have got some pull with Houli backed in from $3.50 to $2.25 @Sportsbet overnight and as short as $1.90 at Bet365. Plenty of people confident with the amount of 30+ Disposal games Houli had going at 80 Per Cent DE or better.
Hopefully, Houli gets up for those that jumped on Schwarzy’s early big value Brownlow tip.

        1. Hey Sainter

W/O means (without) the hot Favourite.

So let’s says for Carlton it will have a Brownlow Team Votes market Without Cripps and Freo Without Fyfe in the market.

  2. I reckon the umpires will be giving more ruckman votes this year so I wouldn’t be surprised if Grundy wins.

  3. Got on each of Bont and Macrae at the start of the year when they were both paying $34.00. Macrae is a smokey but I think Bont is a genuine chance.

Should be a good Brownlow to watch! Think Danger will win it though.

  4. I’m struggling to see how Bont is rated so well when there was the likes of Dunkley and Macrae in the team. I expect Bont to get votes but how many with those 2 take off him.
I can see Neale going well because he will be more noticed at his new club and not under unnoticed behind Fyfe. He also helped get them to 2nd at the end of the season.

  5. My Sentiments too NATO re Bont with Macrae and Dunkley in the team taking votes off him.
Macrae had 30+ Disposals in every game after Round 11 and we all know how well Dunkley finished off the season, but it will be interesting how well Dunkley polls in his Breakout season.

Re Neale I think @$4 to lead after Round 6 and 10 is a solid bet with Kelly the Favourite and he is only a 2nd year player so no history of polling well with the Umps.

    1. Put a$10 bet at $51 on Neale on the 13/10/18 . Don’t know if he was even at Brisbane then. Feeling good for half the year but Danger had a great finish to the season. Any of the top 6 could win it . Cash out got to over $150 at one stage and it’s $93.50 now but got to go for the win.

  6. The all Australian selectors got it wrong not having a bomber in their squad of 40.
I’m tipping the greatest upset winner of all time…the package !!

  7. It’s an interesting year, with a pretty open field for both the Brownlow and Premiership. There’s normally a standout favourite for at least one of those things.

  8. Grundy @ $6 the place is too good for me to pass up.This is despite blowing about 700 last year on a host of exotics involving Grundy and Gawn.

  9. I gave up trying to predict the Brownlow after Sidey and Brayshaw both finished in the top 3 last year. I have no idea what the umpires are looking at at the best of times.
Would love to see Grundy win it though, I reckon we’ll be talking about him as one of the all time greats by the time his career is over.

    1. Always best to leave clubs that will poll poorly alone as it just takes 1 game where the player you pick does not poll where you think he will and you are stuffed.

Most Brownlow Predictors have Swallow ahead by 1 or 2 votes with Swallow still only predicted to Poll 6-7 votes.

  10. Anyone with a hair style that stands out from their team jumpers, and if it doesn’t clash with (if any) tattoos and is a hard ball get, is my tip for votes.
