  1. Going with Simpkin over Bazlenka I reckon. Puts me in prime position to snag Baz when he bottoms out after this round.

Worst decision is more unlucky than anything. I cashed in on Mitch Duncan before he got injured, cost me a bit.

  2. Don’t really have any best moves this season. A lot of questionable ones however.
I’d say so far my worst move was going for the risk of bringing in Ed Langdon round 2 as a big gamble. He hasn’t really performed how I wanted him to. Only averaging 90.
I’ve ruled out trading in Duncan as that was unlucky

I’d say trading out Macpherson though in round 2 has paid off as he has done nothing all season averaging 61, with the exception for round 3 being the only time breaking the tonne.
Still many rounds to see how things play out

  3. Doedee -> Pittonet.

Sent Doedee on his way after a dirty 39 having brought him in the week before. Since then he’s tonned up 3/4 games. That said, the 332k I’ve got waiting to be used from Pittonet makes up for the dead rookies I’ve got.

Remains to be seen whether it’s been my best or worst move lol.

  4. My best move was bringing Josh Dunkley in at 450k in round 7 2019.

Oh! You meant this year right.

Probably going Aarts over Rankine last week. Great move that was!

  5. Best: Starting the season with Simpkin and Bailey Smith – saved me a couple of trades there as almost everybody has them in now.
Worst: Trading out Dan Houston after a few bad game, he’s killed it ever since – Never trade premos!!

  6. best: starting Lachie Neale and making him captain every week

worst: pretty much everything else. Not starting Gawn because he wasn’t 100% fit (thanks for nothing, coronavirus), trading Dunkley to Fyfe instead of Simpkin, bringing in Howe and Stewart two weeks before they both got injured, not starting Gawn, bringing in Bont the week he got tagged to 55 points, thinking Darcy Byrne-Jones was going to be a breakout defender this year, and did I mention not starting Gawn?

    1. Ha Ha Chillo.

I too wish I’d started Gawn. Every day 🙁

My Sneaky wins were starting Petracca, Short and lukosius.
Also trading Dunkley to Neale. I too have taken a few Captain scores from the little man.

Not a lot has gone right since then…

Those 5 trades sent me a bit crazy..

      I kept Dusty.

I “upgraded” Luko to D Smith.

      Then later..

I traded Howe to Shannon “Burn”

I find a little silver lining in Houston and Macrae returning to some form. Its been pretty rough otherwise.

Hopefully a few of my other spud “Premo’s” have turned the corner and can find post something over 2K this week.

  7. Best trade was probably Cumming to 273k Doedee back in round 2 and oh boy how it was worth!

I’m really not too sure about my worst trade but if I had to choose, probs trading Howe for Daniels instead of Haynes

  8. You should try and get Gawn Chillo……he works well with Neale as C and VC.
ATM my worst move was getting in SPS, showed potential running off HB, now he bloody tags.
My best move, getting in Gawny to work with Neale…….

Ps if you have a dart board Chillo, I’ll send you a photo.

  9. Monitored Viney all preseason and gutsed out of picking him R1 and his 186.
Traded Howe out for Houli two weeks ago.
Traded Brayshaw Freo three weeks ago and he’s averaged 90 since.
    Ahhh!

  10. Has to be ceglar. I still think he’s a premium in the ruck but he’s a terrible forward. I see the Sydney game after Gawn as a ray of light, but do I trust Clarkson to leave him where he scores best? A possible 40k loss this week and decisions to be made. I’m positioned 2800, so I might have to pull the trigger for a PB finish.

Best moves were Ridley and Simpkin and starting Neale.

  11. BEST – Starting with Neale, Gawn & Grundy

WORST – Trading in T Stewart in R2 instead of Haynes or Ridley, to then lose him to injury in R4, taking a $42k loss, & starting with Whitfield instead of buying him now at $50k less, and trading Dunkley to Fyfe against my better judgment, knowing how he always misses games through injury, instead of Simpkin.

  12. Biggest mistake is easy – Just playing this year. Should have given up after round one, gone backwards since

  13. Worst: bringing Rozee in R2 instead of Simpkin, not starting Neale.

Best: Starting Greenwood & Petracca, & going with Gawn & Grundy from the start even with the 0 from the postponed game.

  14. Best – At startup going mid-price in the forwards and investing in durable premos in all other lines. Avoiding the expensive Whitfield / Martin injury trap, and have since picked up Whitfield at a bargain price.

Worst – Trading in Aarts last round for what was hopefully quick $. Going to need to correct that now.

  15. Starting moves:
    Best – Docherty / Neale / Rowell / Gawn / Grundy
Worst – My forward line – Ceglar was supposed to play ruck and score well. Also, I was 20k short of Greenwood – I knew he’d have a great season but instead of finding the money (say by going for cheaper rookies), I went with Macpherson (that alone has cost me 50 points / week).

    In-season moves:
Best – Simpkin and Pittonet in after Dunkley’s injury.
Worst – Not making trades before the re-start in round 2 (had some other stuff going on and didn’t swap out any rookies pre-round 2).

  16. As a standalone it doesn’t seem so bad, but I’m scared it could haunt me all season:

Last week I brought in Ridley and Bennell, for an orthodox 1 up 1 down. I had the cash to bring in Greenwood instead of Bennell , and do a double upgrade, but chickened out. Now with Simpson and Rankine Im double downgrading and missed the Greenwood boat. I feel like couldve gotten a good boost if I hadnt chickened out, because Id be 1 premo ahead of the pack.

    Oh well

  17. Best move: Dunkley to Neale before Rd 2. Felt very risky at the time but has definitely turned out for the best. In a big way. Starting with Gawn feels very vindicated too.

Worst move: Trading out Brayshaw before he started his current form run. Not feeling great starting with Laird either. He was meant to be Mr Reliable but has been Mr Mediocre.

  18. Best: Starting Docherty, Titch, Neale, Grundy and most of the right rookies

    Worse:
Trading Brayshaw to Ceglar after round 1

Should of started Gawn/Goldy R2 with shortened quarters they’re absolutely killing it

Trading Green for Cameron the week before he comes good

Trading in Duncan and Aarts last week

Trading in Petracca over Simpkin the week of the suspended game

    Starting Whitfield

  19. Worst: Trading Dunkley when he got injured to Fyfe who then went and got injured in his first game for my team..

  20. Best:
Bringing Pittonet in before first price rise
    Nabbing Doedee
    Starting Howe 🙁
    Fyfe to Simpkin
    My VC / C choices

    Worst:
    Starting Lynch
Just before first lockout swapping Petracca for Brayshaw
    Bringing in Ben Long

  21. Worst:
    • Starting Ceglar, Laird and Dunkley
    • Not starting Neale
    • Trading Conroy —> D Cameron

    Best:
    • Getting Simpkin in after R1
    • Sauce —> Gawn, Dunkley —> Doedee (same round)

  22. Not sure if it’s a WORST but i’ve learnt a SC life lesson about the risks associated with PODs.

Two weeks back brought in POD Duncan. Scored a solid ton first week but the more mainstream picks also scored tons. Last week he scored in the teens due to an early injury but being a POD not too many others suffer that low score in their 22. This week he’s likely to miss and that’s a big expensive hole in my midfield that most other SC teams don’t have to deal with.

Similar story with POD Parker who i brought in for the weekend’s round after some solid scores but he couldn’t get amongst it and scored in the 40s. Again, a hit to my team that most other SC teams didn’t have to deal with.

Compare it to when Rowell went down early. A super popular pick it hit most teams and we all rode through the lower round score together. PODs are great but when they burn you it hurts more than when a popular pick has a dud game or gets injured.

  23. I don’t even know we’re to start.

    Worst moves:

    1. Trading in Ben Long & Brett Bewley after round 1. Long was traded a couple of weeks back Bewley will be gone soon.
    2. Not starting Neale
    3. Trading in Starcevich in round 3 (only made me 60k)
    4. Having no backline bench cover from round 1

    Best moves
    1. Getting in Pittonet for Long in round 3 (did this last year with ROB & again is working great for cash generation)
    2. Starting Gawndy (it’s not even a good move just a given)
    3. Trading dusty out when he missed & getting Simpkin

  24. Best Move:
-Trading back Gawn in R3. Sold him in R2 to balance my team, then ate humble pie, used another trade to bring him back.

    Worst move:
-After selling Gawn R2 to balance my team, I brought in Danger instead of Simpkin. Dangerfield was playing his 250Th game at home at Simonds Stadium against the Hawks who don’t tag: got that one completely wrong: Captain Danger got tagged . (Danger 101, Gawn went on to score 184, ouch). Then backed Danger again and captained him against Carlton, he scored 75 (Simpkin meanwhile scored 140)

Danger has come good since, so maybe not a bad move, but I missed out on Simpkin and $200K. You cannot win them all

  25. Worst: Choosing Darcy Macpherson over Petracca, trading Tim English for Sam Jacobs after R1.

Best: Picking up Simpkin (483k), Ridley (401k) and Haynes (514k) for relatively cheap before they increased in value. Also picked up Mills last week who scored 173.

    3

  26. worst: Playing SC this season
best: having a glass of red (or two) during the score carnage each week

  27. Best – not trading till later in round 3 after Essendon melbourne game got postponed then changed Oliver to Neale

Worst. – probably bring in aarts last week instead of Rankine would of saved me that trade this week and could brought in a premo instead

  28. Best was starting Neale and using him as captain every week also! Also starting petracca and grabbing simpkin and ridley

Worst was easily last week where i grabbed shiel for rowell and brought in aarts and played him over king’s score. Could have just focused on getting Gawn in!

  29. Tim English… Did my summer research and thought he could be very good value as R2 behind Grundy, thereby giving me another midfield premo.

Starts off 2020 with a 63 and 68, causing me to flick him for Pittonet to make some cash.

Since then he’s averaged 139 and just dropped a 200+ point game. I don’t know what to think anymore.
